Try another bass through through the amp,if it doesn't have the same problems then look at the pickups.

8 basses including the 2 broken ones in the loft.I am currently in a semi active band but I kept all the basses during my 13 year hiatus.

1978,16 years old,mate of mine I went to school with said "Spike,I'm forming a band,buy a bass". So I did.Band came to nothing,I'm still playing.

I've had a set of R*tosounds on my Shergold for 28 years.I haven't played it for 27 years though.

I've got some of those.Took a bit of playing in,but for £3 they're perfectly useable.DR 's being handmade,maybe they've got a new person there who is crap at making strings? Never had any problem with any of mine,but I haven't bought any recently.

Both of my 78 Precisions are 11lbs ish,can't say I've ever considered them heavy.My Tokai P is much lighter (haven't weighed it) but I do find it uncomfortabler to play because it's neck heavy and I have to spend time and effort stopping the headstock hitting the floor.

Decibel levels and ear damage standards vary from country to country,and from individual to individual.As a general rule,if you're exposing yourself (ooer) to 90db for more than an hour at a time regularly,don't expect to be listening to the music you recorded in your 20's when you're in the old folks home.Simple answer? get a db meter and find out.When my band were clocked at 125db in the rehersal room I started wearing earplugs.I can now have conversations with the drummer that he has trouble hearing.Cymbals are louder than Marshalls.
