1.
I've never seen one there, must be at least one tucked away but maybe Gloucester has them all.
Both of them....... Remus Sound in the depths of Barton Street (lock the car doors when you drive through...) has a lot of second hand stuff and can be worth a browse, but not open on sunday.Plenty of hookers and drug dealers though.
  2. Try another bass through through the amp,if it doesn't have the same problems then look at the pickups.
  3. In the pick tech's hand.Duh!
  4. 8 basses including the 2 broken ones in the loft.I am currently in a semi active band but I kept all the basses during my 13 year hiatus.
  5. 1978,16 years old,mate of mine I went to school with said "Spike,I'm forming a band,buy a bass". So I did.Band came to nothing,I'm still playing.
  6. I've had a set of R*tosounds on my Shergold for 28 years.I haven't played it for 27 years though.
  7. I've got some of those.Took a bit of playing in,but for £3 they're perfectly useable.DR 's being handmade, maybe they've got a new person there who is crap at making strings? Never had any problem with any of mine, but I haven't bought any recently.
  8.
Aha but that would be a lie!
I don't live there any more but I still rehearse there.I challenge your claim!
  9. You've grown more fingers?
  10. Both of my 78 Precisions are 11lbs ish, can't say I've ever considered them heavy. My Tokai P is much lighter (haven't weighed it) but I do find it uncomfortabler to play because it's neck heavy and I have to spend time and effort stopping the headstock hitting the floor.
  11.
I could usually get away with 2.
Show off.
  12.
That logo came in around the post-'75 redesign. Prior to that, it was logo-only.
Aha.That's my 78.
  13.
Just looking at the logo - is that right about leftys not having the words 'Precision Bass' on there? I never knew that.
15.
I think the 70s decals, when they had 'Made in USA' it was very small under 'Precision Bass'
Both of mine have this.

    Ooohh

Awesome bit of wood, but it's got too many strings.
  17. Get a Triangle player at the next gig,I gaurantee the audience will remember it.
  18. What,I'm the first person to say triangle?
  19.
I read somewhere that Hulk Hogan was recruited for wrestling after being spotted playing bass with his band in a bar in the US. I wonder if he's here on BC...
I have seen the Hulkster playing bass on WWF. Not that I watch wrestling,of course.
  20.
No, it wasn't easy but after an hour of them taking the p**s out of me for having the audacity to like different types of music to them, I was finally pushed over the edge. I was hoping to stay friends, but they've spent most of this evening having a dig at my girlfriend on facebook, so I'll probably be breaking some jaws tomorrow.... As someone on here said a few days ago "life's too short to play in a band where you're not happy" or words to that effect!
And how old are these people?
  21.
Erm....my left shoulder
Right shoulder.... The rib cage contour also works well as a b*llock rest.
  22.
All I'd add antiperspirant / deodorant to that, but otherwise perfect.
What's deoderant?
  23. Decibel levels and ear damage standards vary from country to country, and from individual to individual. As a general rule,if you're exposing yourself (ooer) to 90db for more than an hour at a time regularly, don't expect to be listening to the music you recorded in your 20's when you're in the old folks home.Simple answer? get a db meter and find out. When my band were clocked at 125db in the rehersal room I started wearing earplugs.I can now have conversations with the drummer that he has trouble hearing.Cymbals are louder than Marshalls. 24.
Is that your usual defence?
Keeps the nostrils clean.
  25. Middle aged Punk Rocker.Leo may have called it a rib cage cutaway,he was wrong,it's a b*llock rest.Precision as low as I can get it,hammer the 4 strings of fury and surprise people with the ( very ) occasional moments of subtlety.
