1. The cab might get bored,but otherwise,no.
2. Having decided to restore the Marathon I've had sitting in it's case for over a decade, can any owners advise me on what the stereo outputs are actually supposed to do? Just 2 outputs or do they split the pickup ?

4. Personally,I wouldn't take a laptop any where near a sweaty stage environment.Been using drum machines for decades. My personal favourite is the Boss DR660,programme it by playing the pads in realtime, quantise, off you go.And easier than trying to get a drummer to drool in stereo.
5. 1979 - L/H Columbus P bass through an H/H VS Musician guitar head and an unbranded 1 x 15 W bin. 2010 - L/H 1979 Fender P bass through a Peavey Mk.6 400 watter through 2 1 x 15 cabs.
6. I used to consider my 78 Precision heavy until I picked up our guitarists Les Paul.I stopped complaining after that.
7. DR Black Beauties here.Very nice strings indeed, the coating does wear off after a few weeks of 360 bpm plectrum hammering,£30 seems about right but do shop around.
8. This chap in Usk. www.richardmeyrickguitars.com
9. I play it whilst ducking the drumsticks that ususally fly in my direction.
10. Seems like a guitarist ego problem to me.Get lots of people to say "the bass isn't loud enough" after gigs.
11.
I'm not the slightest bit bothered what colour a bass is-as long as it's black.
Damn right.Although I have plenty of basses that aren't black because the colour was not a priority.
12. Selmer again.Zodiac this time, when I started in the late '70s old valve amps were dirt cheap, some for good reason - they were crap. It's worth big bucks now.Do I regret px ing it for an HH VS Musician? Hell yes...
13.
a pixelated blur?
Yup.Taken years to achieve.
14. D'addario because I like them and DR's because they're black. And, happily they sound good too.
15. I look like the bloke on the left.
16. Rattus Norvegicus era JJ Burnel, although I have my Jah Wobble moments.
17. I thought JJ Burnel and Paul Simenon looked cool.
18.
Yeh, ive had a few comments from other 'musicians' saying chords ARE NOT for bass. They are only meant for acoustics, electrics etc
Pah!
19. Chords occasionally,diads frequently.
20. Surprisingly good, considering it was my first one for 13 years.Persuaded to do it for our original Uberfan's birthday,it all went well, good crowd, and, most importantly we got fed.Might even do it again.
21. Hmmmm. My understanding always was the the trademark kit was a kackered 50w HiWatt guitar head,a knackered 2x15 and a knackered Marshall 4x12 with one working speaker. The important bit is of course the mammoth amount of compression applied in the studio, which is why the live sound is very different.Compare Live Xcerpts to Rattus.
22.
all these posts just go to show what a broad church punk has become, but for me, old enough to have been there when punk broke, it's the Ramones that do it for me, fast melodic songs stripped down to the bare essentials, after all they were the first true punk band, weren't they?.
Well noted for their socio political stance......
23.
no mention of the Minutemen yet. Mike Watt is one of punks greatest bassists.
And now in the Stooges. Nuff said.
24.
No, didn't Queen sue the bejesus out of Vanilla Ice for the Under Pressure bassline? Chic also insisted on getting paid for Rappers Delight.
In those cases the bassline was considered the melody, and if it's the original copyrighted recording that's sampled then that's another HUGE can of copyright worms. And totally off topic.
