1. I have emailed mark at bass direct for guidance. Awaiting replies. Anyone know of any GB dealers closs to nottingham?Edit : Mark at bass direct is a hero. A few emails detailing my issue and explaining I have no idea where to go to with this. His last email simply said"Stephen, leave it with me."A lot of weight off my shoulders, trying to find someone relavant at fender gbi was finding a needle in a haystack.
2. Have a wtx500. It does its job of being light and loud, so suits me. I went with it from markbass. Even though I think wtx series is supposedly cheaper side. Despite the gimmicky features I prefer its clean hi fi sound over the MB stuff. However I use the vt pedal nearly always on but still it articulates the sound rather well. Negativism would be I find it lacking in wattage compared to other "500" watt heads.
3. Had the voltage selector on the wrong setting. I'm actually seeing about getting it fixed. Whole lot of hassle for such a simple thing to go wrong.
4. Is that where the funky fluid is coming from?
5. Sounds promising. He just dropped it off to me, and I opened her up. There is a lot of some kind of oily liquid inside. Al ot is sprayed on the underside of the top panel adjacent to the power supply. Stinks like terrible. Mark is going to be getting an email haha.
6. Lol. He said there was actual flash of flame. My guess is it will need a whole new power management thingy or whatever is inside it. I'm surprised to that this amp has no overheat protection that I can see. I've never even seen mention of amps that have some kind of voltage protection when they have this switcharoo on.
7. A friend just got an imported GB streamliner 900. Before thinking to check the voltage he plugged it and some nice smoke and fire display happened. What can he do to get it fixed? Is it even fixable?
8. The point here really is that you arer loud enough already. While another 210 will help with on stage monitoring its a lot of dough to go towards something you'll only benifit from. Better to spend the time and energy into looking at how to make sure you get the best monitoring onstage. If I'm struggling the sound guy will put low end into the foldbacks and ill turn up the mids or cut the lows. I'm never truely happy with onstage sound unless I'm totally relying on my cab for sound and I'm able to turn it up. But at th e end of the day as long as the sound out front is good it doesn't matter.
9. It will be twice as loud? Double the speaker double the amount of air. The rh450 will only have to push half as hard to achieve the same loudness as 1 rs210. Your problem isn't really loudness its where you are in relation to hearing the cab. Personally, I either tilt the cab back and try and stand far enough away to hear it, or I have a headphone amp that can use the effects loop or preamp out on head. A little unsightly but if you have to stand right ontop of your amp its not much of a problem.
10. IME if the drummer is a quality musician and not just there to make noise then I just have to make sure we are grooving together making eye contact, and most importantly making sure they are getting a good gfeed from the bass and vocals. Happened to us once. We got the singers brother to do the set. He is now our permo drummer.
11. I prefer a few 32 inch scalers I've had before. The main reason I don't use 32 incvh scale at all is because ernieball don't make one.
12. There is a zoot 4x10 at 23kgs in the sale sectionm If you were to go barefaced I'd have reservations on weather the head can power them enough to really shift some air. I've used a fe heads and with barefaced and IMO yoiu need a head that does at least 300 watts at 8 ohms.

15. £600 is plenty for something decent. Depends how big its got to be though. The tc do a cheap(ish) combo range but there is also the rebelhead combos, new price is £1000+ however.
16. I wouldn't buy a fender without trying first. Most of what I've played has been fairly good. A few mexican Ps could use some electronic upgrades, but those roadworns are something else. IME unless its japanese try before you buy.
17. What you mean your giving up?
18. Mark hoppus used to use a ray. That is all.
19. No idea why but I've always got a torch.
20. This is only on sale while something I want is on here. got it in a trade for a Markbass F1. This thing is tiny! Never seen so many features packed into such a small space. Things I like are the defeatable compressor and front loading effects loop. It sounds very nice, very clean even at very loud levels. Has a DI and level control on the back and a pre/post switch in the form of a push pull knob on the treble pot. Its never been out my house and I've only had it about a week. Wieghs something like 1.7 kgs! I have the original box it ships in and manual. To your door for £350! I'd prefer bank transfer. Interested in trading for other light wieght heads, needs to be at least 300watts @ 8ohms I can email pictures to anyone who is interested.
21.
Andy Baxter has one similar to yours for £750 He is a dealer but his prices i think are pretty fair Here you go:- http://andybaxterbass.com/details.php?id=168
In fits of gas I looked at prices for these 82-83 GandLs. I found 1 SB-2 in a much better condition for around £500, would be even less now. Still cheaper than andy baxters including import duties etc. I don't think his prices are exortionate mind, just obviously dealer pieces. I'd love the mustang he has in stock but no way I am spending £1K on a mustang. Edit. I'd love it but it depends if you want £300 for it
22. Sold my big al to Ryan. Honest bloke, informative. No problems. Was a pleasure.
