1. 2000 views and no offers? I feelfor you. Surprised it's not gone yet.
2.
fair enough! When I somehow win that lottery thing I never bother entering, I'll self-indulgently set up my own review site to test gear and see if I can do a better job...(shouldn't be hard ) In the interestes of fairness I'll demo each one fingerstyle and slap. Pick players can go fly kites though.
The thing is that you will never be able to convey correctly what any bass sounds like over YouTube. For 1 YouTube compress videos terribly, another thing is that you will either be listening to the bid through tiny cheap monitors or your headphones. You can only really get a sense of bass sound when next to a full ranged cab. I like ed friedland but I don't like how he will always boost mids and bass(if he can) which to me just chokes the sound. At the end of the day you should base your opinions on a bass on some douche on YouTube, you will only know what a bass is like when it's in your own hands.
3. Fender power jazz special, if you get one in good nick. P body with a jazz profile neck. Passive tone, but there is an active bass-treble cut circuit that allows for a wider range of possible sounds. MIJ aswell and built like tanks.
4. I have been deleting others that are unnecessary.
5. I feel sorry for those that have a 450 and are now looking to sell to upgrade. They will be lucky to get £400 for them. But then again the used Market will place it's own price on one used.
6.
www.bassmerchant.com Darren WILL match any price.
Even foreign ones, how about duties that will no doubt be added on to remain in the law? 999USD would make it maybe 750£ but then you have to add duties charges, something that cost me 550£ in the states had an added 110£ once it got here. The box is pretty big and would take up substantial space in even a large suitcase. Boxed weight I would guess around 3kg.
7. Buzzes while open? Do you have a good break angle from the nut to stingpost? This usually cuases buzzing, no matter how high the action is. As there isn't enough tension to pull the string enough to raise it above the first fret.
8. You speak utter sense. A few more days and I'll withdraw.
9.
I'm going to my Sons wedding in Ireland on wednesday so I'm gonna offer this at £1195 plus shipping until then. Payment only via cash, bank transfer, Paypal gift option or buyer pays charges, please.
You sure you no want to trade
10. Pictures
11.
The difference is important to some people and will never be important to others.
Exactly. I guess it's not important to me. This whole scene just isn't me, I'm more average Joe than I realise.
12.
Or try bumping it more often.....the 3 a day may not be enough hahaha.
Yeah I know. I might have a go on EBBM but I already used my email once to sign up and they never sent a confirmation and wouldn't reply to emails.
13. So.... Is the RIC for sale yet?
14.
Go for it happy to answer. I've not earnt real money in a band since I was 16/17, and I'm 30 now. I've played in mainly underground hardcore punk and progressive indie bands since then putting in everything for nowt. This new project is brilliant, free practices, nice lads, good musicians. Nope, it's not helped much to pay for what I spend on gear but it helps
I'm just wondering what a 4000pund bass provides that a 1000pund bass doesn't. This has been covered before, but I've played a shuker jazz since then and IMO it was no better built than a 1000pund stingray, except for personal preference I sound and looks I don't think there is much in it. Except a W&T. Also if you are having a wait time of 15 months, isn't it time to hire some help?
15.
The acoustic trio Ive started gigging with split £200-300+ between three people per gig! Most of ever had the chance to earn and its great. The trick is to join a 3 piece!
Just declaring myself in! Wow at those prices. I would say something but I dont want to open a can of worms.
16. Thanks However unless vintage/mid 90s/classic series then I would require a cash adjustment. Stephen.
17. I just wish the girl got out the way, so we can see the bass more!
18. I guess everyone is holding onto the monies these days. Even at my parents business it's exceptionally slow. How much did yours go for? I got offered it in a trade, but I'm not after changing for sake of maple f/b.
19.
I agree what your saying Stephen, but its just because ive wanted one of these for so long that I hate the idea of letting it go hahaha. Im trying to get a cheap gibby bass sorted the noo also or a MIM fender. If I get one of these basses and I love it straight away then I know the Ric aint for me.
Just get another jag? Gibby, as in Gibson ? You forgot what happened with the epiphone basses? There are no cheap and decent gibsons. For example a friend has an SG by Gibson and it's nice I agree but it's no nicer or better sounding/playing than my £300 epiphone dot studio. If I was you, I'd have a go on a roadworn, the rolled fingerboard feels great. The price and finishes or a different thing. Or you can do what I've done, give up and get the same of what you love but different. If you were to get a fender, I beg of you to not get a precision, for your own sake. No matter how well it plays it won't sound like a jaguar/jazz and you'll most probably move it on. I wouldn't mind trying a RIC, but I haven't had any luck with passive basses for a while, also I'd prefer a blue one, like my dream bass from FLCL.
20. Wow 3 years!!! God knows how he'd make pickup covers from pre-made FLAT sheets. You can order these sheets pretty cheaply, the thing is cutting them right so they dont rupture.
21. Mexicans in Mexico. Always wanted to try one of these but don't want to risk the monies on another fender.
22. I importedy ray second hand from the states. After paying everything, I had it at home in a hardcase for less than £700. I'd say before importing; check what you'll have to pay in duties first, also if it's from an online retailer always email and ask if they will send overseas, also I think it's worth making sure they add on the right cover for it aswell. Obviously it's more risky with more money. But I've imported hundreds of things from all over the world.
