5. As above. lots of wear and tear as its been used and abused thus the low price. A bit weighty. comes completely shielded with copper plate, control cavity and a copper strip. £55 posted
6. As above, Dimarzio model J's, actually they are split coils mounting in a jazz pickup case, so each one is hum cancelling on their own, very silent and sound fantastic too. my favourite pickup. comes with screws and some mounting springs, lots of wire left, the black and white are soldered together so the red and green are positive and negative. 7. As above, brought from him sometime ago, complete with bellplate, screws and knobs. Cost around £90 £45 posted
8. As above, brought recently but in between starting this project I brought an ACG. Brand new only had it a few weeks, not screwed anything into it so factory fresh pretty much. Can't remeber what I paid but import costs totalled about £60 alone. last picture includes a dent which was there when I opened the box. £150 posted
9. If budget was tight and I had to get something like a combo, I would make it a 15" with at least a 100 or so watts.
10. Save your money and check out Tayste's iOS for the gigging bassist thread in the effects section.
11. Anything from mad capsule markets, if you like it dirty
12. I'm trying to do research on how in depth BIAS is. It looks pretty comprehensive, but I want to find out if I can get majority of my core sound from it, IE blended high passed drive, and some compression?
13.
Why demo the different characteristics of a sliding pup system and then change your right hand picking/plucking style to match? I know that the front 'mudbucker' position will likely sound dubbier but there's no need to play it thumb mute style and then slide to back pup and suddenly start playing finger parping style... in the middle, change to a different right hand finger style. Play them all the same finger style ya twonk Andy then we can hear what the difference is!
Guy Pratt's video is a lot better, bit of bummer that they don't show less convention pickup positions. I know what a jazz, mud bucked and a P all sound like, but there is so much scope I between those position.
14. What ever is comfortable. Usually you should have strap length so the bass at the same height standing as when you are sitting. If something is hurting something is going wrong. I can play regardless of height but usually have it just a bit higher than if I was sat down.
15. Just had a quick google, Quientin Berry (Sp?) that should lead you in the right direction.
16. I know o you man but his name evades me, he has done a video with Doug Johns at some hot rod car meet.
17. I like it, but that top version looks decidedly more finished than Guy's version. Also not keen on the les pual styling.
18. Gets some pictures up, and offer a plus postage price. People are lazy and do want to see what you have even if it's as new as the day it left the factory and thus looks exactly the same as factory shots.
19.
You're not wrong Rich. I always say to people don't ever buy something I buy even if it's great and the most popular thing going because as soon as I buy one it goes out of fashion lol. As you know mate these are great cabs, certainly the best sounding and loudest 115 I've ever come across - and did I mention it was superlight? This one's mint and looking for a loving new owner. If I had the space (and the money) for a super compact to pair it with it wouldn't have been going. Having said that I'm happy with my mini MarkBass 2 x NY121 rig, keeping the compact as well would be just greedy (and be the cause of serious earache from the other half!).
20.
Is it possible to have a thread that lists all the availble CDs from BC bands and how to order them ?
There is nearly a whole section somewhere a big lower
21. I actually use HTCs branded head phones. They came with my one mini, and honestly. They are the best I've owned. They broke so replaced them, £5.49 posted from eBay. That sounds like they'll be sh*t.but I've had headphones that cost upwards of £40 and these have blown everything out of the water.
22. Song know if I posted here already. But I've enjoyed using my sony wireless over th past year, however it's not getting the use ATM and trying to save off a holiday means it might go under the hammer. But it's been a good investment so far, and very economic on batteries too.
23. I would have brought this had it had a bridge pickup, but I went with a dual pickup Finn instead. To anyone thinking of buying this, do it. Great basses from ACG, can't seem put mine down.
24. Bass was too loud? It depends what that really means. Even when I've seen videos of us from phone cameras the bass is always audible through the mix. But then again I am using an extremely mid aggressive sound with not much real big lows. It may have been a case of the lows were a bit excessive, not the whole sound of the bass. But obviously all the suggestions above for better cameras are valid.
