1. I don't know what it is but I actually hate fuzz, dont get me wrong, there is good ones and bad ones, and I've found numerous useable sounds with fuzz pedals. I particularly like a light overdrive going into a fuzz myself but still, a fuzz on its own is for me the worst.
2. This is excellent, what I've been looking for really when I posted the thread in the accessories section. Definitely going to try and pickup a sonic port now. No experience to call from but how does one go about modelling an amp via Bias? That along with jam up has sold this route for me so far. And buying effects to try out is a lot cheaper than actually buying the effect in reality. How much in do you reckon it would cost to get setup as an iOS bassist. I already have an iPad, so need a interface and some apps, plus more effects than necessary lol ?
3.
I talked to one of the Guys on the Orange stand at the Great British Guitar show at the weekend and he told me that the OB1K will not be going into production in it's present form as it's not quite right and there looking very seriously at class A/B for it.
If that's at all true (I'm sure it's on their website) then looks like they are trying to justify, weight and price. For that money I'll just buy an EBS Fafner
4. Bump. Had hopes of someone trading but they've gone quiet
5. I really rated the SVT 210AV with my old markbass head. Pretty good cab for the money.
6. I like the growing ACG list, as it's one builder I've majorly cOnsidered the past few months to sort me out buying basses every week. Anyone know a good way of getting to the venue from Nottingham, I don't drive!? Ste
7.
Exactly. If it was a genuine Fender in that format then I would be tempted as I'd rather have Fender over a licensed neck and not everyone makes blocks and markers necks. I think I'll go with Warmoth as they can do a slim 70s taper as well as blocks and bindings. Its just a pain with the shipping and customs charges!
Even with shipping and customs on top it's still a decent price, especially as you get to choose a pretty exacting spec, and it's quality product. The only down side is resell price for warmoth stuff isn't very good, but I'm at the stage now where I want to buy something that will last me.
8.
+1 £500 for a ten year old neck that may or may not be genuine from a seller who is reluctant to send more pics? I think you know what to do ;-) Even after charges, surely this would be much cheaper, and guaranteed quality: http://www.warmoth.com/Showcase/ShowcaseNeck.aspx?Bass=1&Body=1&Spotlight=1&Path=Spotlight&i=BN4361
I'm looking at warmoths stock ATM too, and and few things are pretty cheap, if you are willing to pay the postage and customs.
9. £500 That would put me off anything regardless where it's made and buy whom. You can get a fender US replacement neck for a lot than that new. Edit: a lot less I meant in regards to a genuine new fender US neck
10. These days if you need info and you don't use google, you are using the internet wrong.
11. A good example of a chinese modern player, Mexican fender and Indonesian squier would all feel equally good. Differences in feel come from weight and finish after that. Go to shop and try some go for what feels best.
12.
You have a Shuttle, your tempted by a Tonehammer, why not the Streamliner?
If this is aimed at me I'll try a short as I can manage reply. I had a streamliner's and just plain didn't like it, I find the controls on the shuttle a pain enough (essentially three volume knobs) and adding a mid scooped EQ to that made it all more confusing and could never really get a balance between lows and everything else. Shuttle I can balance that a lot easier but the bass does feel rather empty in feel which is a bit of a downer at rehearsals.
13.
Yeah I get this point, but you could say you can get a tube driven tone from a Zoom B3 instead of spending a bomb on one pedal. Same with Ampeg/Tech21 etc. The tone from this amp is great. I'm guessing there is more to it than we think. I agree it would be good to know what the amp comprises of.
Yeah, if my amp sounded anything like that then I wouldn't be looking around so much. I keep saying it but it's just too much of everything for what it is/does. I guess I'm just annoyed that it's soooo big and heavy and has a silly price.
14. Replied too. Neck is now sold pending the usual. Hopefully will be all done by the end of the night
15. TOp man, brought a p body and now some tuners to boot. Quick payment
16. Updated. Tuners sold. Neck now at 50 squids posted
17. added some pics for the trex
18. £90 posted for this. I know there is one for sale here already and I'm not trying to under cut them but I paid £100 for this a few years back and I've used it a fair bit. Clever little unit but I could never realise its full potential as I'm daft. While ive used it a bit its still in excellent condition all the knobs work and are present. Mainly used as a headphone amp to play along to my ipod etc, and it sounds awesome for this, high fidelity, miles a head of the head phone amp on my shuttle 6.0. I have the box, some manuals (I think) and a psu, that isnt made for the unit but has an adapter that fits it, but its the right voltage and ampage. Also a 2GB sd card Pictures are crap as my phone was nearly dead and the light was going.
