1.
Sorry to jump in dude, but I believe the hardware is all standard sandberg stuff.
I'm not too sure the blurb they have for these is a bit vague. Seems that parts are sourced else where made in east Asia somewhere but go to Germany for QC. Wouldn't be able to tell until I had one in me hands though. Waiting for some creme jazz to go up SH
2.
there are a couple of sounds on the Renegades album by RATM which really do sound like a speaker breaking up. I don't liken this to any overdrive pedal I've ever heard - which sound more like an amp distorting than a speaker breaking. Anyone know what I'm on about? And how he got that sound?
No speaker breaking up but Tim C's recorded sound relies heavily on his cabs as well as modified amps. Around then in sure he was using 3 SVTs of somekind. 1 ran clean, around this time it's a very woolly thump, lots of highs have been cut, the other two set with increasingly more distortion. I've tried to get close to his Evil Empire sound, with my pedal board. One clean channel mixed with overdrive, using two BB preamps. 1khz boost too, brings out drive well. Could get a rebegades sound if I had an EQ on the clean channel.
3.
This is just diabtribe. Chucking terms around? When I refer to a windows fan boy, it’s just that, a windows fan boy. An avid ‘windows can do no wrong’ fan boy. That is NOT a windows user. I am a windows user. I am a PC user. I am writing this on one now. I like PC’s, I have a windows 7 system, a windows 8 system and we run server 2003, 08/08 r2 and 2012. I manage all exchange iterations from 2003 up until 2013. They all have their quirks and benefits. BUT, I prefer OSX, it is simple (for me) better. I am not being blindly pro apple here. It is just what I have experienced and it comes from a balanced and non-bias background. I do however get frustrated by these Anti apple rants by people who clearly don’t have all the facts. The OP wants an honest opinion, not some anti Apple waffle full of misinformation or indeed an anti pc waffle full of misinformation. I could pick your post apart, but I have fuffing clients ringing me telling me their pc isn’t working as it should. If anybody has any genuine, none bias experience of PC or Apple, who has some kind of credence to what they are saying, I am sure the OP will appreciate their time an effort.
Did you have to shout? Personally I would have a mac if I could afford it but I have a windows laptop, while it can be unreliable it costs half a cheap mac and (when it is working fine which is 90 percent of the time) can out perform the top model macs. The only real difference is price, tbh though.
4. Don't have any fretted necks laying around do you ? Haha
5. Don't understand why this is so cheap lol. I'm close enough to buy but fretless just isn't for me, I would be even more tempted if I could source a CIJ fretted neck to go with it.
6.
Has this sold?
Yes sorry mate
7. Xotix BB bass preamp, so good I have two.
8. MM necks are great, finish isnt sticky. Good swap out for any squier or fender neck anyway.
9. It's possible on some strings to actually break the core which will deaden the string. I had this all too often on DR strings which is why I don't use them now. Maybe the much stronger break angle at the bridge is doing this?
10. I've got no issue waiting a liitle longer. I'm just itching to hear myself through a decent for a change.
11. I fancy the jazz version. What are the hardware materials like?
12.
Could the pickup be to high giving too much signal thus over loading the pre?
Never heard of this before. Had a ray and a sandberg basic with the pickup set very high and I dig in a lot, never had any cutting out. Be sure it's the bass and not an amp or pedal or anything else.
13.
two BB preamps?? how do you use the two - stacked, or just set for different levels of gain??
Well I have one low gain and always on and the other set for high gain stuff. So stacked and different levels I guess. Haha. Been the best OD for bass I've had, and two is better than one haha.
14.
Nice ... how is that Sony wireless working for you? I've eyed it for a while, it's between it and a G30/G50, haven't decided yet.
Excellent, far better than the stageclix I had before, not missed a beat since owning it. The cable for the transmitter is a bit cheap and crap but works all the same. just waiting on a custom Line selector to get rid of the boss and the board should be finished till I find something else to buy.
15.
I saw on a thread a few weeks back that BF are looking at this.
not strictly though.
16. I too have been waiting a while but recent emails with Alex have proved he is very much trying to keep up with incoming orders as well as getting backed up ones out the door, along with various other things going on.
17. Here we go, a but messy as the diago boards don't have anyway to hide cables and the like.
18. Use a guitar. Done. Thank me later.
19.
£870 cabs that fall apart after a year. Manufacturer offers to sell users a remedy. What a joke.
Fact of the matter is that the specs against anything else that's even close are still more expensive and this is an example of a cab that gets used a lot. Also as has been said, it's hardly falling apart.
20.
Ou7shined's Pingray, perhaps?
Always, forever.
21. Still can't find any info on the 'new' v4b
22. I've ad the stageclix and found it just isn't a truely clean signal, mine had issues anyway and ended up sending it back. I have the Sony dwz and not only is it cheaper in a direct conparision it turned out to be a help of a lot cleaner than the stageclix, plus I found the actual buttons(conpared to the lack of on the stageclix) to be a lot easier to use and setup. Battery indicator on both transmitter and receiver are very good, and show that it needs changing and when it really needs changing.
23. Personally I think you getting lost in the muddle between sounding good solo and sounding good in a mix. For me my sound from my board doesn't get changed, so foh get what I want it to get, and this the audience, the type of gigs I get I'm lucky to be Able to hear any bass at all et alone enough mids to hear the dirt but out front it should it is fine so I don't care too much. Personally I would get that comp in a clean loop on its own and have the dirt in another blended in. So the darkglass is just pushing in dirt and it's not loosing its own dynamics from having a compressed signal pushed into it.
24. Had a jack issue on a preamp I brought new from him. I sent an email and he sent out another jack socket out free of charge. Top man. His preamps are the biz too.
