1.
Secondly the neck profile. Wow...very smooth neck, a little flatter than the Stingray5/Sterling5/Big Al 5 neck. Very very fast neck. I was also impressed how the 24 fret neck felt the same as a 21/22. I didn’t feel like I was stretching for the 1[sup]st[/sup] fret. Thirdly, the sound. Now I love the traditional H on a Musicman. Nothing, and I mean nothing, makes the same sound as a Musicman humbucker in the sweetspot. The Bongo HH/HS has the bridge H closer to the bridge. It gives a VERY tight, low mid kick of a tone, but instantly Musicman. Fourthly, the EQ is brilliant. I’ve heard people say ‘its harsh’, etc. No way, not at all. Lots of power, and the mids are perfect. A little goes a long way, but even maxing didn’t make it sound bad. This is what technology brings when designs evolve.
I like bongos but unfortunatly I have to disagree with some points with you. I very much prefer the normal 4H as the pickup is in that spot and the dual pickup version's bridge just sounds thin compared. Not bad but just not as good as it should, no reason just shift the pickup closer the bridge and to me it stops being a musicman then. Neck profile never bother me for some reason, but the painted neck on the Bongo feels very cheap, compared the the regular gunstock oil finish to me it gives the impression of money saving....... Also you wouldn't have to reach weather it was 21 fret or 24 as it is still 34'' scale no? I do liked the EQ but it can be harsh if you don't engage your braincells. It's 18 volt and tiny increments do make a big difference. I like Bongos but again I only really like the 4H model. I also agree about the quality of Musicman instruments. But don't listen to me I play a Sandberg basic now
 2. I take my rig to pretty much every gig. I always take the time to run the otrhers of what knob to move (volume) and that every thing else doesn't matter as it is going straight to the desk. I also set my compressor up so that it's nearly impossible to continuiously clip the amp. They always seem nice and thankful that I've legt them use it. To be honest I wouldn't be bothered if they didn't, it makes everyones life easier, 9 times out of ten we have to borrow everything else, and I primarily take my rig for me. There has only been a few occasions where the bass player has been a total retard fag, and I don't mind getting arse-y with some lowlifes who can't bare to be onstage without a pint near by.
 3.
wait, what?

Additional mass creates more punch.
35% weight reduction since the original 2TEK Bridge design in the 90's

I read that too................. I'm sure 'cross talk' is a real thing, but I ahvenmt noticed an the issue to be that bad on any bass I've owned.
 4.
I see my issue is being taken seriously.
Unfortunatly its just the way it goes. I find that very good pictures help on a sale thread 10 fold.
 5. Up for grabs is this OC-2 I had this off Slazman who in turn brought it off Shep (pantherairsoft) it's in pretty good nick and a really good octave on guitar and bass. However after a lot of playing I just don't like the octave sound in either my clean low end signal or my dirty signal. As I want to do more pitch shifting and momentary stuff aswell in regards to octaving. the velco that was underneath has come off and has taken the silver stick that is underneath all boss pedals no biggy but it's there aswell for some who really wants it. £50 (£10 less than I paid paid) and add £3 for postage. bank tranfer or paypal not fussed.(nut no fees ) Pictures won't go up at the minute will try again tomorrow morn! Stephen
 6. I recently got this from binky_bass for £40, but massively overestimated the size of the LMTUBE. Anyway the bag is in pretty much an unused condition, and will fit any of the markbass range, but is designed to be used with the 19inch 2u sized amps!!! I'm asking £40 posted, what I paid. ONO Or trade for a Littlemark bag................. I also have a GigSkins amp bag , small, for sale £40 No pictures as of yet, but it is pretty good nick to say it's been out to every gig and reherasal for the past 9 months. All prices are posted. I prefer bank tranfer but can do paypal (as a gift no fees) if needs be. Obvs I'll cut some money off if you want to collect. Stephen
 7. I have markbass gas, big time. I would like to trade the Compact for a Traveler 2x10 or 2 if someone is feeling generous. I have a little cash and can put some up for 2! Very much a feeler and no cash sale price as I would definitly keep it if I could afford to. Stephen
 8.
Has anybody got any experience of stacking Barefaced Super Twelves? Just wondering if they play nicely given the top handle and rear wheels. And yeah, it'd be overkill, but I can't help wondering what sticking an S12T on top of my current S12 would provide. Aside from the physical effects of fear in my bandmates.
Would be fine providing the amp is able to handle the 2 ohm load. I would also wear ear protection and stand in another room.....
 9.
Pictures? Box included? Oh I really shouldn't lol, don't suppose you wanna part-ex my Boss Slow Gear? hehe Si
I knew you'd be here.
 10. Brought a markbass case/bag off binky. Arrived in good time and is in great nick, unfortunatly because I'm stupid it doesn't fit my amp...... great chap all the same. Stephen
 11.
Wonder why it's only seems to be Fenders that get 'worn' in ? Is it because the originals weren't exactly finished to a high standard ? Certainly that was my impression the first time I tried one back in the mid 70's.
My '95 sterling is definitly worn in, compared to newer models. The edge of the finger board and frets are very rounded and really comfortable, and the neck has gone soft as arseholes.
 12. Oli sold me his super Sandberg basic in natural and I'm absolutly in love with it. Excellent deal posted yesterday and arrived today, top chap.! pleasure doing business.
 13. Just got my natural sandberg basic of TRBboy (Oli) excellent chap and the bass itself is just as excellent. Really pleased with it, and I would dare say better than majority of Stingray's I've had and tried. finish is superb and the neck is excellently shaped, no cricket bat. It's everything I wanted and more, I didn't even think it but after playing it an hour straight it reminds me of all the positives of Warwick and all the Positives of a Stingray, but no negatives. The natural one is extremely light, (8lbs) and is very well balanced. £550 for the greenburst? if you are thinking about having it stop and have it, especially if you love EBMM basses and Warwick basses.
 14.
Him not getting laid is not your problem.
EPIC!! Personally I don't give these kind of people the time of day, let alone enough acknowledgement to give me some chalp about stuff they know nothing about....
 15. +1 to anything SS peavey, made like tanks. Althoughg I would do my bit as an educator and teach them the inner working of a valve amp and amps in general. One of my biggest gripes when gigging is musos who can't operate gear. No matter how many times I tell someone the master volume is the only knob tio turn they'll still loook confused. both of the guitarists can't work anything and even ask which way effects pedals go round......
 16. Oli is a fantastic chap and even while he is going through a diffidult period he still has found time and put the effort in to completing a deal with me. Can't wait to get my hands on the Sandberg. bumpage
 17.
That's a crazy price! Basschatters, y u no buy awesome rig?
This time last year I would have been picking this bad boy up. I earn about 2/3rds less than I did last year, and it's probably true for a lot of others.
 18. Brought an OC-2 . Excellent comms and great chap, went out his way to get it to me personally. Stephen
 19.
The markbass case will fit any of the full size 2u markbass amps, or and 19" 2u bit of rack gear! So I'm guessing the internal dimensions are 19" x 2u high x about 13" deep. Hope that helps sir!
Alright cheers bud will check it out and get back at you.
 20. Me in the drummer from a recent gig, all photographers love greyscale for some reason...... .
 21.
I think the £1500+ instrument reviews is more about letting people know what is out there, than actually telling them everything there is to know about a bass. And as I said before pretty much everyone can find out about all the sub £500 basses with a trip to their local musical instrument emporium.
You live in Nottingham right?
 22. seems ridiculous that they won't slot someone elses board...... turning away good business, exsepcially in these economic times....
 23. Really eye opening stuff Shep. It's good to see the problems being highlighted for a change, I was tutored in guitar while at school and we only briefly went through correct positions etc. But a lot of back problems stem from shooting up at an early age and having to bend over, and incorrectly, a lot of the time while working. For me a healthy dose of gym time and eating healthier and drinking 2L of water a day has helped a lot.
