I paid for an OC-3 Andrew had for sale at the beginnning of March. I was very enthusiastic and sent him my address in my first message, the price was too good. I paid for it on the 7th of March, in full with no pronblem. A week past by where he was not in contact with me, after he claimed it to be posted the coming Friday. It didn't get posted until the Tuesday. He did message asking if it had arrived and it had not. 5 days later and i got some more information. It appeared his Girlfriend had posted it 2nd class with no tracking and no insurance. I checked at my local depot but nothing. By the 25th of March he finally come round and exclaimed his apologies and said he woould send out a spare that he had. I had not heard anything, not even a courtesy call to say it had been sent. I messaged him on the 29th of March, 3rd of April and I got Shep invovled. Shep also messaged him (and me to calm me down as I was a little peev'ed) to which he did reply. He explained he was having trouble sending messages, and that he was away working and would get it out as soon as he can. After which another 6 days past where it didn't arrive and I heard nothing from Andrew. Since then I have still not recieved the OC-3, and I have sent several messages , and Shep has sent 2 himself trying his best to be (alot) more politcal about it than what I can be. I sent a message last night explaining my frustration and that by Friday evening I expect to see £45 back in my bank account, he has my mobile number and my bank account details so has no good reason not to contact me. He has made several posts, been online and read all my messages but continues to ignore to situation. I can see how from his point of view that it maybe the I have now 2 OC-3's of his and I'm now trying to scam his money. Although I have made countless deals on here (many not even in my feedback) I am freely available through my band's webpage, several memebers can contact me personally, with a few knowing where I live, and I'd like to consider Shep a personal friend, who I have made several deals with over the past few months. I am only on minimum wage and most week's (due to recession) £45 is nearly a 3rd of my week's pay, so to afford anything decent I have to save, and save lot's. I would not deal with Andrew again unless it was a face to face transaction, and at this moment in time would seriously discourage any user from dealing with him. Edit: I have tried to remain as calm as possible, but after 2 months I thuink even a Buddhist monk would struggle to keep their patience.
Andy has since been in contact with me. It seems that he has had troubles with some app on his ipad/iphone so messages havent been going through, and recieved three in succession. He has tried to rectify the issue and even offered me another pedal on top, however since it's been so long I have already sourced something else. I can only put it down to 'one of those things' coupled with how hard it is to get in contact with him, it just snowballed. If you were to deal with him please try and get a mobile number, and leave your own, as it appears he has been hard to contact with other members also.

No idea how much a custom bass costs at all, even after looking over the price list. Do I start with a standard price and add up my custom options?? What if I want a discontinued model, say the original FNA?

All the bands I've been have been total ass haters. The current one is ok I guess at having an opinion, but the lead singer thinks looks are more important, and the guitarist actually hears the bass. Although yesterday after being told I was too loud, while they were all wearing those cheapo ear plugs we get for free, which just muddies everything up! So I played the next song with no volume and no one noticed until we got to the part where the guitars arn't playing chords. A past band insisted on me playing with a pick for some silly reason. After every gig and every rehearsal I got asked if I was playing with a pick or not. If they are going to suggest one over the other because it sounds better then I'd expect them to hear a discernable difference between the two. i left this band soon after, along with me being bald a massive problem for them............ TBH we all notice when something isn't right, and for a largly alt/punk/rock originals band the singer's single coil telecaster sounds absolute w***, and his playing isn't much better.
In few words you are just trying to convince me to keep it!!!! All the time I try to sell it, there is ville that reminds me how good this bass actually is!
Get in contact with Mark at Bass Direct he get's a lot of coverage and just moved on Shep's Roscoe for a better price than your advertised one! (rememeber comission though) These basses are amazing! The B string on these Roscoe's is the best I've heard!
I've never experienced it buy heard of a couple of others that have... Though it's a part of the 'stomp' (single band) compressor, which I wouldn't really use anyway. No one ever says anything but good stuff about the 'studio' mode - which is by far the best compressor I've ever had the pleasure of using.
+plus 1!! That really is a good comp! you barely hear it working but you get the visualisation that it is on the pedal which is awesome, and Shep throws some serious huge Peaks at it. Self oscillating the moogs to do a pedal solo! that without it would definitly give evryone within a 1/4 mile radius a brain hemorrhage.

I don't play cover band's so it's a little different. I put in as much effort as I can within the contraints of everyday life, which is the same for the other guys, but that's why it's taken use ages to do anything. I like to think we all try and be the best we can be, but it also creates a class of ego's, everyone wants to do fills and show off, even the vocals and he is no good at that anyway! haha.
I was pondering in a Cardiff music shop today and I came away with the opinion that the line between Fender and Squier is becoming evermore blurred.
You reasons? I think Squier make some fairly decent basses at decent prices, and Fender make slightly better versions but with a heftier price tag. That's just me, but I ahvent owned a Squier bass and have sold on all the Fenders I ever owned.
Most people are gonna chip in with what they use.....so I'll just come out and say that, if you can get one, the Boss CS-2 is great, my fave that I've tried. It's a classic case of trying a lot and seeing what suits you Si
Have to agree with Si here. I use the T-rex squeezer and I use it purely to bring up the input gain, squeesh high high peaks (usually on the lows) add a great deal of punch and it is supprisingly clear and not squashing of the rest of the range, considering it's only single band. Problem comes to powering it as it needs 12vs. Still lots out there I want to try out though.
Have a listen to this & then do it with just a chorus (mind hit the bypass switch )... Our Helical Mind Just a drummer & a bassist to provide all the sounds. There's a lot of other bands that use effects to this degree too. The bass is just used as the tone generator for what is an analogue synth.
Big Dug is a killer track! When I was playing just guitar I had 10 or so pedals, several different drives that would get layered, a few modulation, EQ's and switching. not counting the EQ's and Switching it was about half that, which seems more sensible. But the switching pedals add lots of ease when you want to turn on 2 or 3 at once, and teh EQ's especially after drive units add lots more than you think.
Again, the price is here to encourage a trade/discourage a sell ; and it's almost what i've paid for...In france you can't find one under 1500 € when there is one of these for sale : considering this one got a LP pickup; I think it's fair.
Europe prices are better than our GB prices at the minute, I've seen some pretty low, considering they don't come up often at all. This is the more desirable version though I think.
EBS NEO 110 or 112 would be great for your noise channel (As I know what your setup is and what you are trying to do)... but I'd personally just do parallel effects chains leaving one side totally empty... personally. Save yourself the extra amp and cab and replace it with an LS-2
I have an LS-2 At the minute it's splitting signal. I will take a look at the EBS neo 112, as thats what I first started testing with anyway.
+1. Bass cabs are made to run clean, guitar cabs are made to run dirty.
I see your point and raise you by the fact that the cab would be serving more than one purpose which is why it's ideal to have another bass cab. I can't really use a guitar cab in my normal setup.
Always goo to consider the contribution of guitar speakers to a dirty sound, smooths the top, and adds some breakup of their own, and a nice mid bump generally. Something like a Sansamp GT2 does have a go at replicating that if you go for the signal end mix.
I have been ATM dual mono(or whatever) running my bass rig and my old old guitar rig (4x12 and somoe transistor head) while it sounds good, with good results, but in the real world the audience (and if i'm honest myself) won't really hear the difference between bass cab/amp and guitar cab/amp. I also want to reiterate the point that the cab and amp won't just serve the dirty needs it will be coupled with the compact with for my normal setup, which is bass - tuner - comp - head - cab.
Wait until you see it with the angled pickups AND the angles ramp between them... I think the layout looks killer!
Does this mean it's going to be done soon ish??

I am working on a bi-amp rig now to help get better definition between clean/sub and dirtyness. Ideally I would just get either a Midget or another Compact but I have to buy second have to try and keep the cab cost under £400 (have to buy another MarkBass head too) and everytime either comes up it's gone before the end of the day, and I'm always late to the party, always the bridesmaid never the bride. I know there must be few other compact/light bass cabs out there that would match a Compact fairly well. I just have no idea what to look for really, and would rather not waste Alex's time with a(nother) email. My only requirements is that it's 8 ohm (to run with the compact with just 1 head for a more standard setup) is light and compact, I guess sound and bottom end isn't a massive thing since it's going to primarily used for dirt and very little bass. I would prefer it not to be something like a 2x10 to stay away from unclear midrange but if the cab is amazing I don't see why not. It also has to cost less than £400 used. I was thinking a Markbass cab one of teh Markbass cabs (1x15 or 1x12) but like I said I have no idea what to look for when matching cabs.
