TO GO: Videologic Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound system
Sharkfinger replied to Kiwi's topic in Completed Items
Damn, too late! If you change your mind, Hamster, I'd be glad to step in. -
Could I have the Logitech Quickcam, please? Thanks, Frank

Had this about 5 years and it works perfectly. Goes to quite a high resolution (higher than 1280 x 800 but that's what I generally have it on) at a really high refresh rate (85 Hz). Quite bulky and needs collection from Enfield, North London / Middlesex.
It is exactly the same as above, but it was manufactured in the company's China factory, that is no longer I don't honestly think there will be any difference what so ever between the two. I could try getting ahold of my brother's camera to get some nice high res pictures
If this is still available, I'll take it.
i wish i had 300 notes right now. id like a jazz with emgs
I highly rate the EMG jazz pups. Not "vintage" sounding but they're the nuts IMO. How much does this bass weigh, by the way? I'm on the lookout for a fairly light bass and I think I was looking at one a little while ago but perhaps decided that it was any lighter than my current jazz (9.2 lb)
maplins mate, do it dirt cheap
Could have used some a couple of months ago, myself. Thought about Maplin but I didn't know the exact type and didn't trust the usual muppets that work in there to recommend the right stuff. For future reference, what should I ask for? Thanks

Sold him a Fender Stu Hamm Urge (mark 1). Paid promptly, great communication throughout. Thanks mate!
Indeed the pre-amp is based on the Bassman circuit, a nice simple passive tone stack. Mmm. I like.
Had a brief email conversation with the guy that designed the TE preamp. It's based on the Alembic F1-X (is that right?) which in turn is based on the fender bassman pre. The original designs for which came out of an RCA manual, circa 1934!
I think he's dissapeared, he offered me a swap or cash for my Eden combo and hasn't gotten back to me.
That's a shame, I have a wedge of cash burning a hole in my pocket. Guess I'll be going to the shop and spending it on a brand new Markbass LMII.

Hi guys A few of years ago, I bought an empty peavey TVX 210 (2x10 enclosure). I think it's a slightly earlier version than the current one but there's not a lot in it. It had none of the speakers but still had the back plate, crossover and wiring. I bought 2 Celestion BL10-200 (8 Ohms) and wired them in series to give a 400W, 4Ohm cab. I covered and sealed the hole where the tweeter was. I use it attached to the second channel output of my stereo Power amp to give more oomph to my stage sound when needed. The cab was not designed with those speakers in mind and those speakers are a bit "thumpy" anyway, so it's not a particularly clear or articulate sound but I have my SWR 2x10 for that. My question is, if I now wanted to put a tweeter back in, which one should I buy, how much would it cost and from where? According to the current model, tuning is: "Box Tuning Frequency: 50 Hz Crossover Frequency (Internal Passive): 3,000 Hz" TIA

Hi all Offered is a my MIM Fender Stu Hamm "Urge" bass. This is NOT the second "Urge II", full scale bass, it's the lightweight version 1 at 7.2 lbs short scale (32"). I'm using my full size Jazz and Precisions at the moment, so I've decided to move this on. It has 2 single coil J pups and an active pre-amp. I've had it nicely set up and it plays really well. The controls are 2 stacked pots. Pot 1 is volume/blend, pot 2 is bass/treble (boost only, I think: I usually just have bass boosted a touch). There are a few really light scratches on the front and a long but deep scratch on the back and some light buckle rash. There are a couple of light dings on the bottom edge. Check out the photos. £350 or nearest offer. Alternatively, I'm open to trades/part exchange with the following: Lightweight head/combo. Something like either Markbass or Genz-Benz. Alternatively, a full size bass with PJ pups and a fairly lightweight (8lbs or less). PM me offers. Thanks....

I must admit I'm a recent convert too. Have owned imitations over the years and wasn't particularly struck by them and seemed to settle on my JV J for my covers band. Got a JV P about a year ago but didn't really gig it in anger until a couple of months ago and never looked back. Odd thing is, they don't sound all that exciting on their own but as someone else here said, they really come alive in a live band situation.
that's not a bad price, did you have to pay customs duty on them when they turned up sharkfinger?
If I recall correctly, only paid customs on the finished article and not the mold material they initially sent me. I think they market it as a "sample".
Also what did thay charge for postage?
Now that I don't remember, but it was about $50, I think. With the optional cord and shipping, the whole thing came to $175, plus customs and (mis)handling by ParcelfArce. The whole thing came to about £120, give or take a tenner. I think the price has gone up since 2006, though, so expect to pay a bit more. The whole process took 4-6 weeks.
You could potentially get a set of er-15s with a spare set of filers for more or less attenuation
They offer the ability to purchase extra filters, singly or in pairs.
have the moulds taken by a pro place for less that you would pay for a set in the UK. What was the lead time from start to finish? Does anybody know if specsavers take the moulds as part of the total price?
That I really couldn't say. They were very helpful, though. Send them an email. Here's the exact URL of the Musician's Earplugs http://earplugstore.stores.yahoo.net/er915and25pr.html,

Bought a Korg PX3B and it arrived quickly and it worked fine. Even had a nice carry case too! Thanks
When I saw the Manics in Cardiff last year his bass sound was, I have to say, absolute pants. The only interesting thing about him was that he had a large 2112-era Rush logo on the breast pocket of his jacket.
Presumably worn over a pretty frock?

Without going to much into the "market value Vs. subjective value" debate (PLEASE let's not start that), 200 odd quid doesn't sound like much to pay for a good looking/playing/sounding bass. It looks well nice, I'd have been tempted myself, if I'd seen it.

Did 80-90 covers gigs (pubs) and about 10 originals gigs last year. Probably only had a handful of weekends to myself. Have 75 (almost all covers) lined up this year so far and probably more coming. Like you, also have a day job.
TBH, I've been eyeballing a pair of those ER15 or ER25 for myself...but I don't know where to have them molded here in Portugal, and not sure if I'll still have a band in a couple of weeks..but in the long run, I'll most definitely own a pair!
I got my ER-15 from here. They send you the kit and you do the molds yourself (better get someone to help you, though). They're in America and I'm in the UK, so would have thought they'd send to Portugal as well. I've had mine about a year. Has anyone else noticed them discolouring, even the bit that doesn't actually touch your ear? Happened to the Doc's proplugs I had a few years ago as well. Before you say it: yes, I have very good personal hygiene
