Recommended spare parts suppliers + guides/diagrams

I often see requests for "what cable or how to wire" so I though I would put this here. -
connecting a bass to behringer keyboard amp
gelfin replied to denosaur1954's topic in Repairs and Technical
Mono to two mono. As there are many of these type of questions, Here's a page that covers most connections. As long as you like and get on with the members of the band stick in there. You will get better in this type of band. We all need to be pushed rather than sit in a comfort zone. Having said that I still can't play My Sharrona.

On your last gig, which number went down the best?
gelfin replied to leschirons's topic in General Discussion
All right now. But I don't think any one here would like what we've done to it. -
I was loaned a £3k double bass for six months by a guy I had never met (jakenewmanbass)! As a consequence, I now not only play the instrument but run a Jazz venue and play weekly gigs with some of the UK's leading players (Christine Tobin, John Etheridge, Alan Barnes, Jim Mullen, Nigel Price, Tim Whitehead, Jason Robello, Gilad Atzmon..... dozens). I 'pay it forward' whenever I can and, this time, it was Skol who benefitted.
I like this idea.

Lost dogs - basses you wish you could buy back... Have you got it now?
gelfin replied to Chiliwailer's topic in Bass Guitars
I was re-united with a bass as in this thread I posted a while ago. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/249429-reunited-with-an-old-friend-after-39-years/page__fromsearch__1 -
You don't have to justify it at all I looked at this thread, just because I've seen so much anti-Rick nonsense on here lately and I wanted to read some positive stuff I once had a Faker - a Shaftesbury, which was absolutely brilliant also had a Rick at one time, but for the sake of comfortable playing (and this includes several other brands of bass) I've moved towards a Jazz profile neck I still love the look and sound of a Rick They look great, and can sound awesome When I listen to one of my fave albums ever - the Black Album, by the Damned (bass by Paul Gray) and anything by the Jam - I just don't think any other bass can quite sound the same..... I wish Rickenbacker weren't so over-zealous re copies but that's just my opinion..... As I said - you don't have to justify your Rick to anyone Just enjoy it.... and it's great to hear from someone who does EDIT: Gelfin on this fine forum has a Rick he challenges anyone to play, and not like and you know what? - It's a lovely bass, super comfortable and with that distinct Rick tone Although I have too many basses already, I'd buy it from him, if he wanted to sell.....
I love my Ric too. No one will buy it. I won't sell it. It will be at the Cardiff & South Wales bass bash next Saturday if anyone wants to try it. Bash details in the Events topic. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/253971-cardiff-south-wales-bass-bash-2015-saturday-march-28th/ I also used to own a Chris Squire Ltd edition. Had to sell it because of extreme finacial need.

"Well to be honest" When I hear someone say this I ask them if they are usually lying.

Many good suggestions above. This is my way of being certain that the hanger will be secure with no damage to the plasterboard.
Right, I've spent ages reading through this whole thread. Forgive me if I've missed something obvious, but how did everyone know he was American? Also, I couldn't see anything offensive in his remarks. Ok, a bit ott in his stance, but not offensive or even belligerent. Was he banned purely for sending abusive personal messages?
Check out the Mickey mouse ears on his avatar. He also poted in another thread with a photo.

Choc chip Hob Nobs are OK I guess.

On the posotive side. £32 for a piezzo pup, pre-amp and kindling for the BBQ/fire pit could be a good deal.
Is that what you told the guy before he bought it from you?
Fair point.

John Hall will relentlessy persue and block any advertising of fakes or copies of Rickenbacker instruments. He is protecting his brand. Basschat is not the only site that he has had issues with. He also gets items closed on ebay and others.

Thanks Bluejay.
