2. Possibly not
3.
I was not claiming anything. I was stating MY opinion (it is an internet forum after all) that I think it is expensive for the advertised features. Other have disagreed, that's their opinion and the world is a wonderful place for it. It's a newly released product and attracted my interest. I wish Ashdown no ill feeling at all and I hope it is a success. I am more than happy to be proven wrong - maybe it will go on to be a defining product, who knows. I work for a car manufacturer. In this industry people spend tens of thousands on products they have never tried but that they have an opinion on. Others refuse to go anywhere near a product, again, based solely on an opinion. I would never say that theirs is a poor viewpoint. As a forum moderator, please feel free to let me know in future which of my 'viewpoints' are poor and I will adjust them to comply. Steve
I could see nothing positive or middle ground in the first thirteen post's. When I used the word claim I meant in general over these first posts not the first. I was not posting as a mod, just my feelings about negativity.
4. It seems a shame that we get topics like this. Posted negatively from the start. Claiming it's not worth the asking price without any experience of the product is a poor viewpoint. I work in the HiFi industry where there has ben a move to sort of parallel type product. The Naim Muso for example. A single box stereo, digital streaming player selling for £895. http://www.audioaffa...CFe_JtAodUxIAiQ Can't plug a bass guitar into it. I suspect posting this will get howls of derision about it. Yet some of the distractors have paid what I would consider well over the odds for their bass. Good luck to Ashdown, for £295 less than the muso you may have a decent home music player that you can use as a practise amp as well.
5. My Sharona. Just can't get the timing right on it.
6.
The £50 note is my favourite.
Fixed
7. My basses live in my practice room away from home. I keep one or two at home but if I change one I make sure it's the same colour. My biggest fear is that when I'm gone she will sell them for what she thinks I paid for them.
8. It can't be the nut slots. Once you have pressed down at the first fret the nut is out of the equation.
9. Get the start right, the chorus right, stay tight and hope there's no BC'ers in the audience.
10. Put the relief in gradually until you have no fret buzz.

12. When i saw "line array" in the title I was immediately thinking of this.
13.
I think £3k is an ambitious price, but if someone's willing to pay that much, then that's exactly what they're worth. Good luck with it! "Nothing sounds like the T1": well, the T3 and Minitaur sound like it, and the T2 less so - but of course not exactly like it, to the discerning ear in an otherwise quiet studio. In a gig, I'm going to go with the most reliable and easiest to transport option that sounds "like" a T1. Also, my T1 became unreliable precisely because I'd left all the original internals in place. Replacing the contacts with microswitches gave my buyer confidence in the purchase (as did the advertising, dig deep enough on basschat and you'll find the ad that sold the T1s). Incidentally, like your interested parties he was overseas as well, so for the doubters there is definitely a market there. ps. I can't remember what Nick Beggs used at the recent Hammersmith Odeon Steve hackett gig, but his T1 was sold on eBay in 2011 by a third party, see http://www.ebay.co.u...t-/150593693851 - for a modest £1200. The pics have gone now but apparently there was a Firth Of Fifth chord chart still stuck on top
Well INMHO with careful adjustment of parameters the T3's can sound identical to the T1's. I have had both together played through the same system. None of the blind listeners could accurately tell the difference and certainly in a live situation no one can tell.
14. Out of interest what do you Taurus 1 & 3 owners play your pedals through. Live or studio. I run both outputs of my 3's into a mixer, then on separate busses to two crown 1200 power amps into 2 18" cabs and 2 15" cabs with horns.

16. The asking / selling price of the Taurus 1's goes up and down all the time. When I say down it isn't low or cheap. I bought my first set around 10 years ago for £1100 from the USA. I ended up selling them a couple of years ago for just under 3K. I was offered this amount for them by a band that was playing at the Albert Hall and their set had failed. I have had a few sets of Taurus 1 but now only have the Taurus 3. All the Taurus 1's had contact problems as they aged. They needed a lot of tlc to keep them reliable for live use. The T 3's sound exactly the same to me and have proved totally reliable as well as having loads more voices.
17. It's just the cameras frame rate. You get the same effect when filming an airplane propellor. The blades look bent/curved and sometimes appear detached. https://www.youtube....h?v=c4bqhcVl2M8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78F18jGp98I

A large hall where most congregate and a smaller room which is for more quieter kit!!! Also my practice room is in the basement and there are other rooms if needed. Pass the word around and let's make it better than before. Same venue as usual and Saturday is the only day the hall is available. Spread the word please.
19. I'm up for that. PM me your address and I will get it done for you.
20. Tell us where you are, I'm sure we could find someone near that could help.
