I think Dad has hit the proverbial nail squarly on the head here. Go for the cheapies as it's your first go at this. You can always change them later if the project is successful.

I have bought these from this ebay shop and think they are great value for money. They come with a wiring diagram for a standard P bass and indicate the colour coding for hot and ground. http://www.ebay.co.u...K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Just connect both pups to the jack socket and don't forget to add a ground from the bridge to the ground Side of jack socket.

If that's an ebay ad why not ask the seller?

Would a bad Keyboard Player make you quit a band ?
gelfin replied to KennysFord's topic in General Discussion
Bassist accessories. Had a girl keyboard player ask to join our 3 piece, she wasn't too keen on this idea. -
We end with "My Generation" with a big noisy free for all before ending back on song.

Strange courier collection arrangement, advise sought
Ha ha, some you win, some you lose eh
Joking aside how about you donate it to a charity. Perhaps you could give three charitable options and let the community decide. If you have the balls to do it and prove it I will match it. Send the payment to BC who will make the donations on our behalf, then all will see that it's above board. How about the BC Bass relay? -
I tend to use a cigarette lighter...*gh*. It's great stuff but does need a little planning if doing multiple connections. I've lost count of the number of times I've finished a soldering job and realised I hadn't threaded on the heatshrink.
Reminds me of the times I have done the soldering then found I haven't put the plug casing on. A real pain when you have just done a Din plug.
£50 says scam. Even if not, as someone who's sold a thing or two on here, if in the same situation I'd decline the sale and seek a more straight forward deal. Good luck either way. C
So who gets your £50 if the cash is banked successfuly ? -
+1
Another plus from me too. I used to sell shed loads of these back in the day. An award winning integrated amplifier. You'll find it hard to get better for twice the asking price.

As Ian said it seems to have silicon smeared on what may have been a tear . With use the silicon wil come unstuck a little bit and let air through it. I know I've tried it. These repairs are generally temporary. They will last longer if you do as Ian said and use tissue layers (not soft like kleenex) and copydex on both sides of the cone.

How to clean a heavy relic nitro finish?

Bring it to the next Bass Bash. I'll clean it for you. -
I did, it's in the OP This is the problem with a lot of people who don't like RUSH. They hear a couple of songs and make the usual assumptions. They are just three great friends making music they love. If you don't like the music that's not a problem, enough of us do love it, enough to keep them going. In fact, they've never been more successful in terms of sell out tours.
This. It's a pity there's no video of the first 2112 tour so I just have to remember it, and even now after a lot of years I can close my eyes and be there again.

Covers bands - how do you agree on new songs?
gelfin replied to thepurpleblob's topic in General Discussion
We're a three piece. If one suggests a song it takes a strong nay from any of the other two for us not to do it. Even then if we can't nail it in one evening session then it's a no go. -
Welcome to BC Andy from a fellow Ric player. Nic

Saw Rush on their first UK tour back in .......... at the Old Colston Hall, Bristol. Just couldn't believe the wall of sound from a three piece. Still got the tour badge as well.

Up until the cruel battering given to Vail on here I didn't actually know who he was. Now I almost feel ashamed to belong here after the way he was treated. As has been said by JT he could be a really valuable guy to have on here. How often would a pro give a bit of time to offer comments and help to an open forum. I would far prefer to have Vail on side and lose the petty detractors. So Vail if you read this please come back, you are welcomed by the vast majority of Basschatters and we value your input. Nic.

For most of our gigs which are private partys my guitarist does the disco bit. He loves doing it. Downside is we have a shed load of kit to set up. Band gear, PA Dj stuff and two light rigs. Upside is we can charge a more than decent fee for the whole event.

Not to sure about the back drop. I first read as The band cold then looked closer and saw the band name in the proper order.

And Casino equipment. Anyway welcome to the forum Dave. Just watch out for the six string bass players on here.
Personally, I'd maintain the opposite, but if Fender say it's OK, I suppose they should know. As a general rule, valve amps (with O/P transformers...) work the opposite way to SS amps. For SS, too low an impedance (2 Ohms presented to a 4 Ohm amp...) could lead to damage (magic smoke...), but an open circuit (no load, so infinite impedance...) won't hurt it. Valve amps are the opposite. Too low impedance (up to 50%, as a general rule, or even a short circuit...) won't harm it, but an open circuit (no load, infinite impedance...) will generally end swiftly in damage (magic smoke...). In your case, however, I'd follow Fender's recommendation, even though I don't understand their reasoning.
Agree with Dad on this one.
Many thanks xilddx, that's really helpful. Some great sounds there, especially in the last section! Did you find any delay in response on the nylon strings, as others have suggested here?
I now want an Ebow
