Awesome Double neck bass/guitar EB0/SG
gelfin replied to tommorichards's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I had the CMi version of this. Both necks were excellent. It even made me consider shorter scale basses. As mentioned above, pretty heavy but worth it for the pose value. Or this for posing.
I wont tell if you dont.... I have said this before but I will say it again, one mans botique is another mans decent gear, one mans decent gear is another mans minimum level required to gig with etc etc etc, In reality we all know that a well set up bass for around say £300? plus a decent amp and a tuner is good enough for most gigs, personally I feel we are only here once so if that rare baby smurf skin gig bag for £1500 floats your boat I say grab it
Smurfette is kinda cute though

Well if we're talking Rics. I love them, but having said that I have tried some of the later ones and I didn't like them as much as my main 4001. I have three P bass. 2 Fender and an Antoria from the late 70's. I prefer the Antoria. I have two Thunderbirds a Gibson and a Tokai, I prefer the Tokai. I actually have too may basses but in the end I always go for the Ric it just fits me and is the best sounding bass in the world, REALLY
Hello everybody, My name is Mike and I'm a fledgling bass player from Cardiff. I'm currently using an Epiphone Toby Deluxe IV Bass and my Line 6 practice amp. I'm also taking lessons from the wonderfully talented and friendly Jon Caulfield. Just wanted to say hi and am looking forward to diving in head first and contributing to this great community!
Hi again Mike. Who convinced you that John was "wonderfully talented and friendly" ? Actually he is.

Hi Mike. welcome to the jungle. Keep an eye on "events" for the next Cardiff S Wales Bass Bash. These meet ups are great for trying out each others kit, as well as giving you GAS.

They do, they've lived there for a very long time.

£650 new. It must be bigger than normal to cost that much. Pretty normal bass face though.

Couple of pointers wanted on fitting tuners & string tree
gelfin replied to Sibob's topic in Repairs and Technical
Use a very fine drill bit 1mm to make pilot holes first, but not quite the full depth of the screws. Do the tuners have a small tang or pin on the face that contacts the neck surface if so you will need to make an indent for this as well. -

When my kids were toddlers, they would march around the house like dinosaurs to Pteranodon.

Given tha most of our set list has already been mentioned I guess were getting it right.

Lets face it it's not only music shops that have been guilty of poor service. What about supermarket checkout operators that talk to their colleagues while throwing your shopping through the conveyer. The bar staff that put ice in your whisky, even though you clearly said "on its own" and then get rude because you insist that they pour a fresh glass, not take the ice out. The staff at Curry's that become invisible when you want help. etc. etc.

1989 Fender 62 RI stack knob Jazz. £150. Scam alert!

Happens all to often I fear. Couple of years ago I was in a music shop. Saw a second hand Jaydee hanging up. I asked if I could have a look at it. Came reply "do you know it's a bass"? Yes I say, I've wanted one of these for a while. Reluctantly it is lifted off the wall and handed to me. No offer of an amp or something to sit on while I try it. (no strap). Floppy old strings on it. I try to tune it but the strings won't clear the fretboard, it's unplayable. I suggest that he sets it up a bit better to be able to play it. Classic reply " You buy it and I'll set it up". I took the cash out of my pocket, showed it to him and put it back in my pocket and walked. Another priceless one. Different shop. I asked to try an Orange Head and 2 410 cabs that were on display. Reply "we don't allow the big kit to be played because it upsets other customers" It's hard work being a customer!

This could be the butt of a few jokes.

Seriously googling for something bigger now.

As above. Like with all cheap tools they won't be accurate or last very long. Get the best you can afford and it will give years of service. My Hitachi router is 28 years old and still as good as new mechanically.

Got to compete with the Guitars.
