1. When does voting end? I went for Taranis. Just googled and found this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znwU_4lLoGE
2. This Seymour Duncan site is very helpful. Just pick the nearest diagram and miss out the Vol pot. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/
3. I'm assuming the strings are flats ? This could be my next build project.
4.
That's nice what make is it ?
It's a Kramer XL8 8 string bass (octaves) Aluminium neck. Could be used as a four string if desired but the 8 string sound is awesome. I first came across it at the last but one Cardiff bass bash, and Garry was cool enough to sell it to me at the last bash.
5. I have always played long scale 34" but I now frequently use this little shorty. Sounds bigger than 34"
6. Price drop now at £4500 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TONE-KING-CONTINENTAL-AMP-1994-SUPERB-TONE-OWNED-BY-THE-BLACK-CROWES/321554827943?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107083358%26meid%3Da5bd5f1befb24d44b6de4b932f88063c%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D20140107083358%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D321551913579
7. Out of interest, why have you posted this question twice
8. No. pre eq means the di signal is sent before it reaches the eq section of the amp. The clean unchanged signal will go to the desk for the engineer to play with.
9.
Quite. Or just get one of these feckers. What's not to like?? I can't see any practical disadvantages at all!! Job done!!
Agree, I have one of these, just thought the covertable was cute. 10. I prefer single pedals and to avoid the pedal dance when changing multiple pedals I use a Combinator. In photo. This is dead easy to set up, powers all your pedals, gives true bypass and any combination of pedal sounds at the press of one button. Plus a mute switch as well. This is an lser set up, it has Hyperdrive, 2 x chorus, distortion, delay, flanger and eq.
11. This appeared on my facebook from another BC member. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=J2WOOIZXNks
12. You could always consider one of these.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yfKsRzLHqY
13. A bit further along
14.
Saw Chris squire fall flat on his face during his solo spot on a Yes tour in Cardiff a while ago.
I was there too. I was impressed how he managed to land face first without letting his Ric hit the deck. And quite sweet how Rick Wakeman put his arm around just after to help him off stage.
15. Plenty of free strong coffee to keep you going Debs.
16. These on an Ebay shop, cheap as chips as they say. Used a load in our prcatise room, very secure. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180663707952?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
17. Did I just indicate that I have watched storage hunters?
18. Check his other items for sale. I think he may be one of those guys on storage hunters and got lumbered.
19. Caught out the guitarist once. He introduced REM's This one goes out to the one I love and dedicated it to his wife. I quickly added "Paula, listen to the lyrics and you will understand why Rich won't be home tonight" He still can't live it down and that was over tens years ago.
20. Absolutely right. The wood is 2" thick and very heavy. Too heavy. So there's more routing to do for the mandolin electronics and anywhere I can lose weight. Bear in mind this isn't planned as a quality build, more of an experiment. Here's some of my earlier experiments.
21. Send me the dimensions and I'll get Mrs Gelfin to knit you one.
22. This is my nearest to a Fender mandolin, Tele copy neck, Encore mandolin neck, still in the making. Inspired by this on fleabay
23. A little more progress. With correct mandolin neck and a bit of reshaping.
24. I thought about doing it that way. I think it was done to sort of cram it in to an existing Tele. I felt that lowering the Tele neck on the body would give more space for playing. Giving space for a decent tailpiece and a bridge that will take a piezzo. Also it will fit into a standard case. There's loads more reshaping to do to get it right. The lower horn will be cut away more as per black line to give better access to high frets. I guess it will only just resemble a Tele when I have finished butchering it.
