1. This is my old Overwater fretless. It had a neck break almost identical to the one above. It can be fixed.
2.
Jamming is an invaluable passtime for a serious musician, particularly in their early formative years. You can practice all you like in your bedroom, but getting together with other musicians and putting what you've learned to the test and hearing it in some kind of context is hugely beneficial - it focuses the mind. My guess is that many of those that say, "I don't do jamming" are actually inhibited and scared of making a fool of themselves. It can be great fun and, as I said, hugely beneficial.
Got to agree with this. Jamming (not covers) can be great for confidence. It also helps if you get it together with the drummer, then you are both right and the others can try to follow / keep up with you.
3. Tidying up my hard drive and found this so I thought I would put it here. May be useful to someone.
4. That's about as brief as my text replies to mates.
5. Just gone back through the topic and have decided that all my albums are keepers.
6. Yes Album Close to the Edge Relayer Foxtrot Fugazi Clutching at straws 2112 Dark side of the moon The wall Have to stop there or I will just go on and on. Came straight to the end so I wouldn't get too many reminders. Great thread.
7. As a last resort I can put you in touch with a tech guy who is fanatical about refurbing old synths. He works for PMC speakers. He did a full restoration on my Moog Taurus 1 pedals, including fitting the updated trigger switches. I was completely happy with his work.
8. Hi all I'm thinking of doing the next bash late October or sometime in November. Cooler weather and no school hols etc. Last one was quite intimate and enjoyable but would like to meet a lot more BCers for the next one. Give me some idea of what dates are good and I will see what's available at the venue.
9. It may be the socket on whatever player you are using, so chopping the plug could have been a bad move. also possible that the bad connection is at the earpieces. Put a new plug on and see how it goes. If you can solder small fine wires.
10. Sadly there is nothing you can do about it. The identical thing happened to me. I contacted Ebay and their response was that they can't force the seller to complete the sale. Yes he should have set a reserve. You just have to put it down to experience and move on. There's no point getting into any debate on it as it will just waste your time and get you annoyed. Looking at his feedback he does seem to be a genuine ebay buyer seller.
11. Just a quick reminder to all interested that the Cardiff South Wales Bash is next Sturday. Look for ward to seeing you all there. details at the top of thread.
12. A friend of mine who often used to pop i to our practise room, suddenly decided he wanted to play bass. He is somewhat impetuous and impatient. He quite fancied my Tobias and started looking to buy his own. Now I fully suspected it would be a flash in the pan. So a quick scout on fleabay found a Crafter P type bass which I won for £25. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Anyway I gave it to my mate on the condition that if he couldn't learn a song in a month he would have to give it back. Two years later he can't play a song, however I didn't take it back and now every time I'm at his place there is a decent bass to noodle on. Lately he has professed a liking for drums

14.
Actually allowing for adequate insurance and eBay's cut of the postage costs the shipping cost was just shy of £35.00 and that doesn't allow for the money time and effort required to actually pack the instrument up properly. If you can do it for less I'd suggest that you are skimping on either the packaging and/or insurance and with the current eBay selling regulations you can't really afford to do that.
Agree with Big on this. I sell quite a lot on ebay and it's a nightmare making certain that goods get to the buyer safely. It's a cost in time and materials and ebay still take a cut of the shipping costs because other sellers abused it by overcharging to inflate their selling price.
15. Our drummer who is now 65 grew up in the Manchester scene. Started drumming at age 14. He still uses his original kit. Bass, snare 1 tom, floor tom, hi hats and two cymbals. He can sound delicate or a thundering wall of drums. Fantastically rhyhtmical His timing is so good I can relax and find the groove easily.
16. Collection only from Rugby. Bit far from Cardiff so I asked if he was prepared to ship, see what happens?
17. He could have offered it to the second highest bidder as "second chance" if that bidder was serious he would have sold fine.
18. If you can send them to Cardiff I have a great tech friend who could handle this. I trust him with all my kit and have known him well for over thirty years. Send me some pics that I can show him first to get a quote.
