5Hz seems a bit low to hear for me.

GK RB400/15 combo for smaller gigs GK Fusion 550 Head. GK 2x10 and GK 4x10 cabs. Age 54 and don't enjoy lugging the bigger kit around.
When the guitarist starts playing "All day and all the night" by the Kinks, don`t start playing "You really got me" also by the Kinks. Not that I have ever done this you understand.....
I've done it.

Flightcase for Orange SP410 Cab ... Where can I buy one?
gelfin replied to Smurf.'s topic in General Discussion
Flight case Warehouse are pretty good http://www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/music/ -
I still love my vinyl. It sounds best, but let's not argue that one now. I have around 3 thousand albums, and yes it is unlikely that I will play many of them again. However they are also like a diary of my life. Just looking through them in their racks reminds me of where and what I was doing when i Bought them. I also have a couple of tbytes of music on hard drives and could never take the time to replicate the LP's on digital. Also the cover artwork is much better and the sleeve notes easier to read. And erm the covers were also useful for...........................

I have had T1 and now have T3. Wouldn't consider T2. The T1's could be pretty unreliable. I had an after market set of triggers fitted which got rid of the no contact no note syndrome. However they were still susceptible to tuning drift etc. They are awesome sounding though. The T3's have been 100% reliable. Not only do they have the original Taurus presets but a total of 56 presets all adjustable and saveable except the four original. Too many more features to list. They are still available in the UK. http://www.gear4music.com/Keyboards-and-Pianos/Moog-Taurus-3-Bass-Pedal-Synthesizer/CK0 They were originally meant to be a production run of 500 but this was increased to 1000. And now it seems they are still in available . Yes they are heavy but easier to use and set up than the Minitaur or any other midi controller synth package. Also bear in mind that to hear them at their best you will need a lot of power and large speaker system. I use them with both hi and lo z outputs into a Crown 1200 power amp. One side to an 18"bin the other to a 2X15 plus horn.
I've yet to hear anything sound as hi-fi and clear as my GK setup. Fusion 550 head into a 410MBX cab (have a matching 1x15 as well but never need it - crazy amounts of volume on tap with just one cab) Rather over budget new probably but around the region for 2nd hand
Have to agree with this. The Fusion 550 head is the most versatile I have ever used.

I've got a few sets of old Rotosounds you could have. RSD 66 45-105. Taken off my Ric. Bear in mind that the Ric head machines are side by side so now won't fit in line heads

For what it's worth I reckon you've had a good deal already with the loan. I wouldn't lend mine out at all. If you really like this bass then offer him the best / most you can afford. If you lose it you may never find another Ric "just like it" Just like any brand there are model and quality variations. I love my Ric but have tried other used ones and some new ones and just didn't like them.

Without knowing your budget it is a bit difficult to guide you to specific products. I have worked in the Hi Fi industry for over twenty years, but rarely get into this type of thread, because there are many diverse opinions and there is a danger of derailing the thread into an argument. However the good advice above is to go for a decent amplifier and full range speakers. Make sure that not only does the amp have a phono stage but it is the right one for the cartridge on the turntable. It should most likely be MM (moving magnet). I have no idea what Hi Fi stores are near to you but if you check out Richer Sounds website you can get an idea what budget kit is available. Sorry if I am assuming you are "budget" Which Denon T/T are you considering and what does it cost? There may be a better alternative for the money. Although it is not always possible, try to have a listen to the kit with music you know before you buy.

GK 400RB II - UK supplier Toroidal Transformer?
gelfin replied to nick's topic in Repairs and Technical
If you join the GK forum you will find people on there that will point you in the right directions. Look for a member called "Bstring" he seems to be an expert and is very helpful,he also can give you decent contact details. -
GK 400RB II - UK supplier Toroidal Transformer?
gelfin replied to nick's topic in Repairs and Technical
Be very wary of getting it from polar audio. I did last year for a 2000RB. They sent one with the wrong electrical values and it blew the amp main board. GK were very helpful and basically supplied all the internal electronics required to fix it "free of charge" Check the spec of any transformer with GK before you fit it. -
According to Yesworld.com tickets go on sale tomorrow 10am on their site.

Soundcraft FX16 sholud fit the bill. Often available s/h. Built in FX. 3 Monitor out. We use this most of the time unless we need something bigger then it's the LX7 24 channel. 6 monitor out.

I have a Toby Pro 4. Plays really well and feels great. Nice through neck construction. As said above it could do with better active electronics. Bass frequencies are big and deep but the highs are a bit thin and clanky. Often on the bay at around £250 ish. If you fancy a drive over to Cardiff you are welcome to give mine a try

I have not yet bought or offered for sale on this forum. If I do I have absolutely NO problem paying the fee. I have had a great time just browsing, found a lot of decent helpful information on here that has saved me money. A lot of people spend a Lot of their own time replying to threads that are asking for help and advice. They do this for free. I have on occasion just sent a donation of varying values because I believe it's the right thing to do I find it really difficult to understand that anyone would complain about this, Paying £20 annual fee to advertise as much as you want, in a specialised place is DIRT CHEAP. Get over it everyone.

Welcome to Basschat. Be warned you may spend a lot of time here, and develope some serious GAS.
