3. If you are listening on y tube what are you using to hear the sound, your PC or sending the audio to a decent amp and speakers.
4. Try Hugh Manson of Manson guitsras. He's the guitar tech for John Paul Jones
5. At rehearsals / practise / jamming the only drinks are Red Bull or fruit juice. Then it's of to the pub with the girls and a couple of pints.
6. My best JJB moment was when he bought me a pint in the Downend Tavern, Bristol.

8. Oh well it's been put on ebay now. But it's still cheaper here.
9. Sadly for sale is my Rickenbacker Chris Squire LTD edition. Anyone who knows these needs little description. This one is serial number 9904113 and is number 786 in the series of 1000. Made 22nd January 1999. I have owned it for around 8 years. The neck is perfectly stable and straight. Absolutely no issues. Currently strung with Rotosound RS66 45/105 It is in mint condition and I have the original certificate of authenticity. It also comes with the original silver Ric case. This does however have a few scuff marks on it. I have gigged with it on various occasions. I am looking for £3000 or sensible near offers. Sorry I am not looking to trade as I really need to get cash together for so called more important things. Daughters wedding etc. I am based in Cardiff S.Wales. So if your are seriously interested you can arrange to view and try out. If any requires more pictures let me know. 11.
This company has some pretty nasty legal stuff on their page. I'm creating a page for them. but no links or visible photos.
Hugh Manson has built many basses and instruments for John Paul Jones and Zep over the years. Knew him many years ago and found him to be a decent guy.
12. I live in Cardiff and wouldn't, really wouldn't play anywhere near Gurnos. Rather play in the old docklands than that.
13. That forlorn note on the French horn at the beginning of the finale of Stravinsky's Firebird suite
14. I would also just like to add my praise for Rotosound service. A couple of years ago I ordered a number of various sets from a local shop (now gone) by phone. They said that they would need to order them. Fine I would pick up next Monday and paid by credit card up front. Cutting it short the shop kept making excuses say Rotosound were out of stock. Contacted Roto who said they hadn't had the order. I lost it a bit and emailed all the addresses on their site moaning that I could get the strings in three days from the states but not buy locally. Next thing I know is I'm getting calls from Roto people all being very positive and helpfull. Can't remember who, it may have been Jason took my address. Next day in the post I receive the complete order of strings free of charge. I have always used Roto's and will continue to do so. I've only ever had one slightly iffy D string, but didn't complain as they had been so good before. I still haven't used all the strings they sent yet Keep it up Rotosound
15. A live bootleg version of Endless Dream by Yes recorded in Italy. A warts n all recording but awesome anyway.
16. 4 string fretless 4 string fretted Taurus pedals are on the floor, honest Prog Rock
17. I live in Cardiff and I'm afraid all the previous posts are pretty correct. There are no really good musical instruments shops here. Cardiff guitar co down near the bay can be good on a "good day" The main three in town are either overpriced or have very little to show in the way of bass. I wanted to buy an Orange rig in Cranes once but they wouldn't let me play through it in case I disturbed the other customers!?!?!?!? Have a look around them but don't get your hopes up.
18.
No they can't. However, I bought a new battery for my car last year, I could discern a slight increase in acceleration and more responsive revving. Its the same. The battery provides the right voltage for the engine components to work. Same as the mains supply in your amp. Nothing is gained or lost by the voltage being 'more right'.
Have you ever tried a test of the Naim powerline and a standard mains cable?
19. Off to see yes at Colston Hall, Bristol on Wednesday. I may sound like a bit of an anorak but I will have seen every UK tour since 1968.
20. Here's another amusing "blind listening test" story for you. A panel of 6 well respected members of the Hi Fi industry regularly did blind listening tests for a magazine. No names are going to be mentioned here. The panel members are a mix of designers, sales reps and journalists. On the day in question they were testing a selection of speakers. The test was carried out without knowledge of any of the speakers being tested and they did not know what type make of electronics were used. The equipment was all set up behind an "acoustically transparent curtain". At the end of the listening one panel member who was a speaker designer declared that speaker pair number 4 were awful and weren't worthy of being included in the test. Imagine how embarressed he was to find that the speakers in question were his own design and selling really well in the shops. Also I can do better than 50% accuracy blind testing cables. Back to Mains cables. Yes I agree that there is little point spending loads on them however The Naim Audio Powerline mains cable does buck the trend when it comes to Hi FI systems. On a high end system the benefits can be heard. However on my GK Fusion 550 rig I can discern no difference. Back to the beer, wine and single malt now.
21. I have worked in the HI Fi industry for many years. I have what I would consider a very high end Hi Fi system. I have probably tried hundreds of different mains, interconnect and speaker cables. Some a few pence per metre and others thousands p metre. Sometimes I can tell in a blind test between various sets. Funny thing is that I often prefer the less expensive. Cables can sound different but high price doesn't usually mean better. ( In a Hi Fi system ) not gig rig. One of my favourite answers to customers asking what cables they should upgrade to is to tell them to buy some new music a good bottle of wine or favourite tipple and just listen to the MUSIC.
22. Here's my home made effort When in use all but the Carl Martin is covered and out of sight. The Carl Martin Combinator is easily programmable and gives me easy access to 18 combinations of the pedals as well as tuning mute and outputs to two amps if required. Couldn't fit these in though.
