2.
Well Auralex themselves are here: http://www.auralex.c...tion_gramma.asp Various companies sell them, around £40 for the standard one and £75 for the bigger one.
Thnaks for that ,looking at getting one now
 3. Do what makes you happy , it's going to be your instrument hopefully for a long time , mayby all your life if you love it enough! I have gone through similar feelings myself latlely and decided to add a few bits to my fretless jazz like ashtray and tug bar to give it more of a vintage vibe , I did buy this second hand so it already has a few knocks and I don't mind I'd it gets a few more along the way , I sometimes leave it where the sun shines on it too so that should help the colour turn more cream like ,
 4. Great band , listening to ghost dancing on the I pod while taking the dog for a walk up the moors yesterday and it was foggy which always adds to the atmosphere
 5. Sounds interesting ! Where do you get them from ? Any links ?
 6.
It's because they're modern. In another 20 or 30 years time they'll be great and whoever is modern then will be crap. I thought everyone knew this. It's just the way we are.
Yep couldnt agree more ,btw andy rouke is the reason i play bass now
 7. I know I was the high bidder for a few days then got knocked off , damn !!
 8.
I don't give a monkey's wang what somebody thinks when I'm trying out a bass as I'm just mediocre. The most important thing for me is to slowly and accurately fret EVERY single note on the fretboard, form open E to highest D# (whaddya mean some basses have more than 4 strings and 20 frets ) This done both accoustically and amplified. If that's ok, next I'll check the electrics. If they are ok, I'll start to worry about tone and how it feels. Karl.
What karl said , also stand up with it and put your strap on and see how it feels then.

 12. i do love a 24 ,i am not a great solo player but it just seems that on my ibanez roadstar 2 series the spacing down the nut end is not such a streach on the old fingers as say my 21 fender

 17. cheers
Hello, As said Luke FRC, the American Vintage basses (57 Precision, 62 Jazz bass) have a nitro finish. Of course, all the Custom Shop Time machine instruments. Why are you interested in knowing that ? For the sound, the look ? Good groove
cheers guys ,i am interested as i like the way the finish ages with nitro ,seems more natural.
 18. Cheers guys by the sounds of things i need to get my act together as just using the trace elliot combo 350 for rehersals and gigs atm ,seems to work ok for the size of places we do now but seems everyone else uses seperate amp and cabs
