Are you the buyer or seller ?? S
i am the buyer stew, been quoted £61 so far insured for £300 and looked into train fair to rochester from cornwall and that is coming in at around £40 .

 4.
We should start our own BC network, if you're coming up to say Newcastle from Cornwall; you could collect a bass for me from down South (ie on route) and I'd meet you half way... just got to go and find someone selling a bass in Cornwall now.
Sounds like a bloomin good idea to me mate !
 5.
If it's worth insuring surely it's worth packing properly & not chancing it to ANY couriers
very true i may go up on the train and get it .

 12. Hi phil ,you made the right move mate ,you will never look back! welcome aboard and you will get loads of good advive on here , as jon says take a look in the for sale section here as there are a good variety of stuff going. i have a trace elliot 300 combo which i picked up pretty cheap on the bay and its does me great for rehersals and gigs , they are a bit heavy but goes in the back of my small arosa with the back seat down no probs .
 13. Looks lovely ,i love the simple tones of the amber with the maple neck ,its the colour combo i was going for before i decided to get the fretless.
 14. We played a gig in the azores for the us airforce and we got flown out turned up at the base we were playing at and did the gig to the grand total of one barman and his sister ! turned out our agent had not advertised that we were playing that night so we went round the next day handing out flyers and sticking them up all over the place and then played the next night and it was packed . another time i was doing a guest spot and the singer did the build up welcome on stage bit and i ran through the crowd and went into what i thought was the door which led to the stage.... no it turned out to be a little storage room and i then had to come back out and climb on to the stage with a hand from the singer as it was pretty high!
 15.
I put those La Bella Deep Talkin strings on my fretless today - what a great sound! But I am aiming for a double-bass sound, which might not be what the OP is looking for.
no i suppose i am looking for something with more bite as will be using it in a covers band doing rock numbers , i will take my fretted aswell and prob go between the two but am hoping to do more on the fretless
 16.
Kay "Banana" bass, fondly named for it`s un Roman neck.
Ha now i come to think about it it was pretty hard to get those strings on that board!
 17. lots of different ones then ! i am hoping to get a nice mwaaa with some bite , and nice overtones ,hopefully the odd harmonic , not into dull dead tones at all , or is this wishful thinking ? am new to this fretless lark so you will have to bear with me , i will be using them on a standard fender jazz with rosewood finger board btw .
 18. Just thinking of getting a torty one for my new purchase but seems to be a big price difference with origanal fender ones being around £40 and other ones at about £12 , is the difference in money worth it do you think ? screw holes lining up etc and would a fender one only fit a mia or would it also fit a mij? any help would be mucho goodo
