1. Hey dude, its Adam Dolan, i stumbled across this to find its you selling it. Haha how come you're selling it!?
2. Yea, I got a Nordstrand MM5.4 and a Nordstrand NJ5S with a nordstrand preamp. I'm also having a switch to change the humbucker from series humbucker - parallel humbucker - single coil.
3. I got a neck as well and I think they cost me close to £500 including £40ish shipping, but then had to pay import tax which was about £130, I think the body was about £170ish at a guess. Hope that helps.
4.
a real smart piece of kit there my friend
Thanks. I've been working on this here and there but on my 3rd layer of Z-poxy now, not put any more pictures up as its not really changed much even though I've spend hours putting it on, sanding it back, putting another layer on etc etc. should be on my last coat now. I thinkim keeping this natural and not putting a burst on. Can't bring myself to cover up any of that grain.
5. Hi, Thought I'd see if anyone fancies either of these before they go on eBay. First up is a Squire stratocaster in vintage white from a 1998 I think, has some natural wear and tear but I think it adds to the character. (The colour is closest to the colouring in the picture of the back). £40 delivered to UK Neck pocket width at the widest point: 56mm PLEASE NOTE: This is for the body, bridge, and jack plate only. No scratchplate, pickups or electrics included. Picture just shows what it looks like with all the bits. I can take one with it stripped if needed. Next is an Ibanez AX7221 7 string body and its a 2 piece mahogany. Its a really solid body, and just needs a bit of sanding then its ready for some colour. £50 delivered to UK Neck pocket width at the widest point: 66mm Any questions, feel free to ask.
6. I wish I had the cash for this! Looks like such a lovely bass.
7. Bump. Anyone want to make me an offer. These haven't even been taken out of the packet.
8. Hi, I got a set of these strings for an audition that ended up falling through. I don't use these strings so I only got these to get me through the audition, and like an idiot I said no to getting a receipt. These are gauges; 50 70 85 105 135 I'm after £20 delivered to the UK for these, so I can get some black Schaller strap locks and actually have something I will use. They generally sell for £25 not including delivery on the Internet. Cheers, Adam
9.
Im not trying to be a stick in the mud or anything but would the control cover not have been better matched to the wood on the back of the body? the front looks gorgeous but the back looks like a bitsa sorry ill run and hide now.......

I like the continuation of the zebrawood theme. Yes, the cover could have been wood to match the back or another type of wood. It beats nasty black plastic. Run and hide! Run and hide!
GRRRRRR.....how dare you! You better find a very dark hiding place because im coming for you! Too much....maybe... I did think about having swamp ash, but as JimBob said i was going for a continuation of the zebrawood theme. The main reason I went for zebrawood over a swamp ash cover is because the swamp ash cover would match in colour but the grain would be completely different. i thought rather than having something that kinda matches, I went for something that would compliment the entire theme of the bass. Just definitely didn't want the plastic cover! UGLY things! But yea the top is gorgeous.
10. Yea I've done a couple with cans. With the right conditions and the right prep work you can get some great results.
11. Yea meant to say. Your build is looking really good! I have a bass I'd like to de fret, I'll do it when I get the courage to do it. Luckily my girlfriends dad is a paint technician, so I'm able to use their spray booth! He also sorted me out one of his old spray guns.
12.
Ooooh, serious loveliness there!
Thanks I can't wait to get this built, I have to stop myself rushing it and possibly ruining the finish.
13. I got a wooden control cover back from Jon from Letts Guitars. He's done a top job with it, im very happy with it. I also sent him a picture of the top and he's matched it really well. 15. Sorry it took a while, but here is a couple of pics of the forst coat of Z-poxy on the zebrawood. It still needs to be sanded, should be able to do that soon...i hope! Loving the amber hue of the z-poxy and is really easy to use, after a bit of trial and error. 16. There certainly is a knack to it. I didn't have a clue either! I built a fretless jazz, and finished that myself. I made loads of mistakes, but learnt so much doing it. Also, if you're unsure about something, loads of people on here to help you out! Try get a body, preferably Alder as you dont need to grain fill it and have a go. I started with using Nitro Laquer, and followed this; http://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/2011/08/05/finishing-an-ash-telecaster-in-butterscotch If I have one bit of advice when it comes to finishing, its take your time. If you rush a step you pay for it a step or two later and you wont get the results you want. I'm going to stop waffling now...so yea you should give it a go.
17. First coat of the Z-Poxy has been applied. I started with the back, because I've not done it before, so any mistakes i may make will be hidden. The last photo shows the Amber hue this stuf has and I'm really happy with the first coat, swamp ash really does soak everything up. Will wait for that coat to dry then ill do the front tomorrow. So I may have a picture of the front tomorrow.
18. Ah thanks mate. I appreciate the offer any way.
19. Managed to get some zebra wood from Jon at Letts guitars. He's a top bloke. So once I get this from him, I can start to apply the z-poxy and take some more progress pictures. I know that's what you all want. It's taken longer than I thought to get this all going. Sorry
20.
I can sell you exacty the right amount of zebrano, thicknessed, sanded and ready to go. Pm me if you want. J
And Lettsguitars swoops in to save the day! Thanks for all the help, Appreciate it!
21. Oh right ok, don't go to too much trouble just yet. I want a cover tha would match a wood on my bass, so either ash, zebra wood, Wenge, or ebony, but that's possibly pricey. I had to google that guitar, I've never seen one of those before! I think I'll call them up tomorrow. Thanks.
