Up for sale here is my self built Bill Fitzmaurice Omni 15 Full range cabinet. It's an incredible cabinet - as good as it gets for a big full range bass sound! I've not gigged it much as most of the gigs I'm doing currently provide backline. See my build thread here with loads of pictures..... http://72.14.191.49/...6062eb3561fad08 I really made sure I did everything right and absolutely to Bill's exacting specifications. I purchased the premium drivers Bill recommended - Eminence Kappa Pro 15LF-2 600W 15" Extended Bass Driver, Eminence Alpha 6CBMRA & Eminence APT80. Proper Baltic birch ply was used! The crossovers were built using the highest grade components too. Total cost reached nearly £400 in materials. I had planned to build a second cab and much of the work is done on the second cab - the horn is made, all the panels are cut, the crossovers are built, all the drivers and hardware purchased etc. Please message me if you're interested in this 'kit form' one :-) More info on the cab here - http://billfitzmauri...nfo/Omni15.html The cab does have some light marks on it from use. However I'll include some of the Tuffcab paint which is easily rolled on making the cab looks absolutely pristine again.

Didn't know where to post this but thought I should let you know that Brian Eastwood Guitars is now on Facebook. Most players in and around the Manchester area will probably already know of him, but for anyone who doesn't I highly recommend you check his page out. You honestly won't believe some of his creations if you haven't seen them before lol! :-D https://www.facebook.com/brianeastwoodguitars
Me likey!! Any bass that blends the better qualities of Alembic, Fender, Wal and Warwick (visually anyway) is fine by me. Tonally it is very interesting too. Sadly for me, I'm a larger gentleman and it would look like a toy on me. I'd love to try it though! Quite a conservative design compared to some of his others...
Haha - I had a Bender some years ago! He built it me as a Jazz and I had the East U-Retro in it. 'Twas an awesome bass, but the novelty did wear off after a while lol.

Thanks for the comments! :-) I'm working on trying to find a company who'd build it at a more affordable price. Will report back if successful...

Hi! It's a long story, but after several failed attempts to have companies like Richwood, Farida etc. take some great (imho lol) design ideas for a short scale bass on board I decided to take the plunge and have it built myself by the legendary Brian Eastwood. I'm absolutely delighted with it and there are a few unusual concepts going on with it which work really well (thank goodness). Check it out here...

This was recorded a while back but thought I'd share it. I'm thinking of creating a whole series of tutorial videos relating to Piccolo bass as there really isn't much help available about what, why and how piccolo bass works. http://youtu.be/YHrre8loZi8

Just thought I'd share this example of what's going to be coming soon free on the website. Hope it's of use/interest to some :-) http://youtu.be/hdLabx79V2Y
A nice well paced tutorial, from a purely presentational viewpoint I would suggest you try to avoid too many "OK"s.
OK! ;-) ..sorry! Seriously though - couldn't agree more bassman7755 and shall be paying this a lot of attention in the next video :-) -
That was really good Scott, cheers! I don't think many people cover the details of recording like you have and it's one of the areas I'm trying to find help with. I'm looking forward to your next lesson on mixing for sure.
Thanks for the kind words. Really glad it was useful for you!

Hi fellow basschat peeps! It's been a while since I posted any free video lessons due to a hectic work schedule. However I've decided to share this one (previously only available to subscribers to my website). I figured 'Recording' would be the most appropriate place to post this, but really sorry if I got this wrong. The video talks through the process of recording a bass track and some of the pitfalls to avoid. It's certainly not a definitive way to record bass, but I hope there's something in there that might just help you if you're new to recording, or just want to get better at it :-) Enjoy.... http://youtu.be/ZdSUIBDQgTQ Scott.
Hi Scott, Just watched the first video and just wanted to say great work! I’ve been looking for a decent double thumb technique video on YouTube for a while and this is by far the best I’ve come across. Like you said yourself, yours is one of the only videos I’ve found that breaks the technique down to its very basics rather than just the usual fast/slow approach. Keep up the good work! Thanks, Andy
Cheers Andy - very much appreciated, and glad to hear what I'm trying to do is working :-) Thanks again! Scott. -
Hi there basschatters! Just uploaded a new free slap bass video lesson to my Youtube channel. Here it is...
