danweb22
I've come across a few instances like this, and the problem has never been the bass electronics itself, so far. It's always been electrical interference. It often seems that it must be the bass when one bass exhibits a problem and another doesn't. Had one recently where all had been fine for a number of years and suddenly a similar problem began. The player tried it with a battery headphone amplifier and found that it was down to the environment, and only occurred at home. I'll see if I can dig out what the cause actually was, had a quick search but unable to find detail. So my advice would be to try the bass in different environments to confirm whether it is the bass, or not, for sure, first. If it is the electronics, happy to look at it, and nail the cause. If not, need a way to track down where it's coming from. John
Thanks John, your a star! I will take it round my girlfriends house and see if the problem is still there. Last time I was there and I had my bass with me there wasn't a problem??!! Any other info on what the cause was on the above case would be cool Cheers

danweb22
Right, I have tried it round my girlfriends house and no clicking noise there! So it must be something environmental? Very strange
skelf
Best of luck finding it. It took me about a week to work out what was causing the clicking. Edited August 27, 2010 by skelf
danweb22
New development!! Have just discovered my next door neighbour has bought some chickens for her back garden which is side on to my room. After hearing some clucking noises I ventured out to see them and discover that there is a CLICKING NOISE coming from the chicken coup. Turns out that my neighbour has put an ELECTRIC FENCE round them to stop foxes etc. This is the cause of the pulsing/clicking noise as my neighbour has not put the earth spike far enough away from our house so is causing interference with the whole property!! It also is leaning up against some rather large trees which according to the nice people at electric fences online can amplify the interference!! So there you go, if you ever have clicking noises coming from your bass/speaker, check for chickens!!!!! Cheers to everyone who helped with possible causes, especially John East and Alan Cringean! I owe you some beers!!!!!!!
Ou7shined
For a moment there I thought you were going to say you've changed your mind and it is now a clucking noise. Glad you solved it.
skelf
That is certainly a new one on me. But now that you mention it they do click having used a few on my friends farm, just never occurred to me that there would be electric fences near your house.
