Hi all i was thinking of buying one of those new Fender Jazz 24 fret basses. It's the one with no pickguard and some kind of mid scoop circuitry. Obviously i will try it out for myself but if anyone has one or has tried one i'd be very interested to know what you think. It's easy to like a bass in the shop but with a full band, your own amp and at a gig it's often a different kettle of fish.
cheers
Al.

It's made in Korea... and a very nice bass.

Looks wise it depends if you like the no scratchplate Jazz style.

they are great basses however it ranges from basses to basses DRAMATICALLY. Some are excellent, some are the worst piece of sh*te I've seen. Make sure for definite that you try it out. There have also been stories of the circuitry frying out pretty soon.

I played one a few weeks back. Build wise, i didn't rate the feel much, it felt inferior to my old USA Jazz by a long shot, the woods just didn't feel great. As for the sound, it was big and phat, i loved it...but you'd get the same sound from putting the same electronics into a different bass!!! Just my thoughts...having said that, if i found one that felt good, i'd be very tempted to purchase it!
