Clarky Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Now that I'm down to 3 basses (assuming we aren't including uprights), having been up to 6 a short while ago, its time to update my vote here and resuscitate this thread Edited December 6, 2011 by Clarky Quote
Stingray5 Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Already voted/posted (#22) - my signature (below) shows the same 6 basses. I acquired a Tokai Jazz Sound last year that had a couple of issues which I've since had sorted. Also had it converted to fretless. I also have an Aria AMB-50 electro-acoustic bass. So it's 8 basses in total. Here's the Tokai: And the Aria: Quote

BottomE Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 5 and they are in the sig. Do i want more? Yes. Will my family abandon me if i get another? Yes. Quote
Silvia Bluejay Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Blimey, there's currently 20 of you with 10+ basses. Awesome. I 'only' have 4 - waiting for my financial situation to improve (as in: reached rock bottom, the only way is up...) before allowing myself to become a serious case of GAS Quote
Paul_C Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I used to have loads, including around 20 Yamahas at one point. I currently have 4 - two self-built and two acoustics. I've got two more to finish building and a little bit of GAS which I'm resisting at the moment Quote
Linus27 Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 7 for me which is made up of fretted and fretless Fender's, Warwick, Stingray, ESP and a Washburn Acoustic which is for sale. Quote
fatboyslimfast Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 3 - (see below). Would like to have a play on a Rick though. Just out of curiosity. Quote
Jazzneck Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) 6 - and one of them is Clarky's fault for selling his '53P replica! (could be 7 if you include my son's acoustic bas which I'm "keeping safe for him" ) Edited December 7, 2011 by Jazzneck Quote
TheGreek Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I've already completed the poll - realised that there's no "not enough" option... Is the answer to how many basses do you need always "just one more"?? Quote
BigRedX Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 "just one more"? You're not ambitious enough Quote
leftybassman392 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 7 here as well, down from (I think) 9 at it's peak, and about to go down to 5 once current offers are snapped up. (I mean, how many basses does one person need, really? ) Quote
dmccombe7 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Good poll. Surprised me just how many players had several basses. When younger i had one bass up till i had two. Dave Quote
MacDaddy Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 only 3 at the moment, but I have various guitars too. For me it's a space issue more than anything Quote

Dave
If you're like me, you hold on to your cheap 4-string student bass for sentimental reasons (I would never sell it, and as a L/H model it would have a very limited market); then buy a good 4-stringer, then feel the need for a 5-stringer, then for an upright. I'm at the stage when I feel the need for a 5-string upright, but can't afford one yet (esp. as I need a L/H one). Such is life Quote
charic Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Currently using: ACG tuned CGCF MIM P bass tuned EADG Yamaha RBX6JM tuned BEADGC I DEFINITELY NEED MORE Quote

Skybone Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Just the one at the moment, though I should really trim the guitars down (3 electric, 2 acoustic)... Nah! Do fancy another bass, but haven't seen anything recently that cries out "buy me!!!". Quote
SebCarr Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I clicked the option for one, but as of last night it's a big fat zero! This must be rectified quickly! Quote

How i managed to have 6 strings I'll never know. Don't even know what the other two are for Dave Quote
