Mikeg
Im looking to buy somthing with jazz pickups. My choices are: geddy lee jazz, marcus miller jazz or a warwick corvete. Ill be playing mostly slap. what do you think?
Machines
It all depends on what you want from the bass. All of the ones you listed will have a good slap tone, which of these to go for is your prerogative.
ironside1966
I would consider the bigger picture just concentrating on slap may be limiting, you need a good overall sound also.

fingerz
Jazz and Funk = Jazz Bass. Precision if you fancy. I'm sorry to be blunt, and that comment will piss some people of and I really don't intend it too, as there are many great basses about. But that's what I can say to you after playing lots of basses, a lot of times over the years. For the styles you mention. Save yourself the many disappointing purchases I have had. Play a load of Fenders, get one you like the feel and sound of, one that you can't put down. When you get into the band with it, it will all make sense
charic
I think this is a 'what would you pick' thread. I which case: Corvette

OliverBlackman
Just to make things harder for you, you should definately look into a classic 70's reissue. The latest ones are perfect for funk and jazz and cost a lot less than all them above. Theres some in the FS section but you can get them new for £
