flatwounds online

hi just defretted a bass and wanting to get some flatwounds to save the fretboard from wear. the only set i can find for a six string(on thomann atleast) are infield jazz at €64. does anyone know any good sites that would sell a decent set cheaper or just same price but better? never bought flatwounds so dont know which are good etc.
i usually buy strings from america as the prices here seem crazy for 6 string sets usually half price or so but the sites i use over there have no six sets.
any help is appreciated anyway

D'Addario do a 6 set in flats - their Chromes series. For closer to home, try OVerwater strings. I have no first hand experience, but the Overwater people are great and would happily answer any questions about their strings I'm sure. I usually go to www.status-graphite.com, at £23.50 for a 6 string flatwound set (not bad), great British Company, fantastic service...

hey how do, im down south living in waterford but mostly gig around tipperary/cork but wherever we can.

Good man yerself. I was just down in Inchageela - about 40 mins west of Cork, for a gig with the mighty Crystal Swing. Some beautiful places down there, especially in West Cork.
