Dood Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 The East Anglian Bass Bash details are as follows: Sunday 9th January 2011 http://www.slepehallhotel.co.uk/ Slepe Hall Hotel, Ramsey Road, St Ives, Cambridgeshire, PE27 5RB Pictures of the room in post 91, link here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...t&p=1019241 Directions are on this page: http://www.slepehallhotel.co.uk/the-hotel/...-directions.asp
From the A14, exit at junction 26 following signs for St Ives (A1096). Continue on the A1096 for 1.5 miles going straight on over 3 roundabouts until you see the Silvaco building. Turn left at the Silvaco roundabout onto the A1123. Continue over the next roundabout onto St Audrey's Lane. At the main set of traffic lights (by the Toyota dealership and the Seven Wives pub), turn left onto Ramsey Road. Slepe Hall Hotel is on the left hand side after approx. 500 yards.
Google Maps link: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&q=pe27+5rb&z=11 The hire of the hall is £200 for the whole day which is great! - The venue requires payment up front - We therefore need twenty people (or more) to pay the £10 entrance fee up in advance, so that we can have the building. I'm definitely paying in advance, as I think the Bash is going to be a great success. Person to rececive the cash to be arranged. In the meantime, if you are happy to pay in advance, PLEASE add your name to the list at the end of the thread. I am hoping that we are going to get lots of you coming along - so any proceeds left after the venue has been paid for, will go to the following charity: Nordoff Robbins: Music Transforming Lives **************************************************************************************************** *************************** Old post for info: A small discussion has started in a thread about having an East Anglia Bass Bash. (here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...p;#entry939960) I'm just posting here to get an idea about who may be interested and to continue the discussion. I know what a b@ll@che it is to get out of Norwich and am sure there are plenty of Bass Players who have turned down some of the other bashes because they are further afield. We have some good resources nearby and am wondering if Cambridge might be a good place to host? Just a few ideas - lemme know your thoughts. I'm looking forward to the next BIG bash as well - I'll certainly be attending, if I can! Quote
charic Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) Cambs would be great for me although I don't know of a venue that would accommodate us. But then again I have never had to sort something of this size before. Count me in! I'll bring along my pbass and school. Maybe my amps too Edited August 30, 2010 by charic Quote
Legion Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I live in Suffolk. I can't slap. I'm not sure how much slap I can tolerate. I guess there is only one way to find out Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) Work commitments (etc.) permitting, I'd be up for one in Cambs.. EDIT- Or Suffolk, for that matter. Norfolk is less accessible. I guess Essex is considered to be "South East", rather than East Anglia. Edited August 30, 2010 by Lfalex v1.1 Quote
Bottle Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Me too - I'm in I'll see if the main auditorium in the Perse Girls school in Cambridge is free - any idea which day people would be gunning for? I ask because the church I go to hires the hall on a Sunday morning HTH, Ian Quote
lonestar Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I'd be very keen to come along, especially on a Sunday in Cambridge. The Perse would be a great venue. Build it and they will come! Quote

lonestar Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Ah Norwich! It's not the end of the world but you may be able to see it from there. Quote

BTS_Spacebass Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 T-dawg would probably be up for this. Never been to anything like it before. Also +1 for can't slap lol Quote
pete.young Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Yes, me too. I've thought about running one in Ipswich : my son's school has a great setup very similar to the one that silverfoxnik used for the last SE Bass Bash but I don't know what it would cost. I can find out if you like: one advantage is that the head of music is a bass player and thoroughly nice chap too. Failing that, I have a slight preference for Cambridge over Narrdge - it takes about the same length of time to get there from here, but Naarrdge seems to take a lot longer! Quote
allighatt0r Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I'm in! Might bring my cheap tat for a laugh! I can't slap either, and it would have to be on a weekend for me too. Quote
Dood Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Excellent - well it looks like the event could have a good tun out then! No idea when, how , who or what - but if it's gonna be in Cambridge, anyone know any good venues? Quote
