I've got an old Ashdown EB 150 watts and it's definitely loud enough to deal with a loud drummer (it has many times). You can get them for £100 secondhand and they have an output for an extension speaker if you need it. Great amps for the price.

So that's only 75 watts into the internal speaker!

There seems to be a much wider definition of loud in use than I was expecting!

I know I play with a light touch..but there is no way 100watts is going to cope with a screaming valve gtr..IME.

If you can make it work, then ok...but I would expect the EQ to be working OT to cut through rather than be a delight to play.
