Squier Affinity 5 string

hi everyone,

was thinking of getting a squier affinity 5 string bass, more as a back up than anything else.
noticed they about 160 from new, and was considering upgrading the pick ups and possibly other parts

any advice on whether this is a good plan, or whether id be better spending my money on something else??

For a 2nd bass I think you should save up a bit more and get something that'll serve you better and won't need upgrading.

What is your current bass and what music do you play ?

im playing a status groove bass (4 string) which ive just got, and love it, would like a 5 string...playing a lot of chili peppers and that type originals...

How much do you think you'd be willing to save up ? For £250 you could get a Yamaha BB415 which would be alot better than the Squier.
