JMT3781
Ok i've had to take this bass back. Its a true testament to how little i played, as i never noticed the problem. The Baddass bridge is somewhat strange, leading to one of the strangest string spacings ever.. I'm going to be getting in touch with Jon about this, as the bass is pretty hard to play. If anyone has any idea how to fix this, please give me a shout.. such a terrible waste of this amazing piece of wood
Ou7shined
Can't you just put a new BA V on (or any 5 string bridge come to that) and file the saddles correctly this time? Whoever returned it just for that will be kicking themselves if that's all it will take. Edited September 29, 2010 by Ou7shined

JMT3781
Oh dear.. Maybe the potential buyer hasn't posted it back to me yet... the deal may still yet be salvaged!
JMT3781
Some research on talkbass tells me that these bridges need to be filed (thanks to a post from mr. sadowsky) himself. Looks like Jon didn't file it (or left me to do it for myself).. either way i'm going to get this bass sorted out

When it's back, i'll check it out, once its sorted it will be for sale though, as 4 5 string fretted basses is frankly quite ridiculous!

Still, I can't believe someone actually returned a bargain Shuker because the strings were strung through the wrong holes. It just makes you wonder what owning high end hand-built basses is all about these days. Edited October 1, 2010 by Ou7shined
SisterAbdullahX
This bass is immaculate.. Was bought as a spare 5 string and has not been gigged. Its one of Jon Shukers horn bass range basses. The body is african walnut, with an amboina drop top (with matching headstock veneer). The neck really is something special. The neck is made up of seven pieces. There are 4 pieces of Flamed Maple, 2 thin dark strips (wenge i think) and a piece of paduak running down the centre. The fingerboard is rosewood i think, and is a really grainy piece that looks great. The Preamp is Jon shukers active 2 band preamp and his own pickups. And has a fresh set of DR strings on it. I am also included a Shuker hiscox hardcase in the sale, which is in good condition, apart from a little bubble where i got a bit hot next to a radiator. The bass is a 34" scale Sound clips here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmTWTjM-MtQ I had a good deal on this bass, i got it in one of Jons clearouts. You can still see the body on his website, priced at 650. I paid 750 for the bass because i asked for the active preamp, and then bought the case also. I think 600 is fair as this bass is virtually unused, and to order this from Jon you'd probably pay closer to a grand and also have to wait about 6 months. Payment is by paypal or bank transfer or cash on collection. I will post, or meet you up to hours drive from me (birmingham) Enjoy the pictures (taken on my balcony ) and don't hesitate to get in touch.
I've got a balcony as well, I just don't like to talk about it....
