tredders Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 So, I just bought Oldslappers Bassix EUB (this one here), and luckily my bass teacher (Steve Amadeo) also plays upright, so I'll extend my lessons accordingly. However, I've only recently tried an upright, and don't have much of a clue, so was wondering if anyone could give me recommendations as to a good book or DVD for a newcomer? I'm obviously not expecting the book / DVD to replace lessons, but it would be nice to have some basic idea when the EUB arrives. Ta Tredders Quote
Duckyincarnate Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I really got a lot out of Ed Friedland's Building Walking Basslines. Good reading practice and a nice way of getting into jazz playing. I also like his jazz double bass DVD (for the practical and performance side of things). Quote
