pn_day Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Hi all, I'm delighted to find a bass forum in the UK. I'm based in Fife and have been playing bass off and on for a while. (Mostly off!) Main forum for playing is in church, and the occasional ceilidh. Current gear (those of a nervous disposition should probably skip the first 2): - Yamaha RBX-765 (fretted 5-string). Had this serviced 18 months ago as it was noisy and not playing well - got the nice chaps at Overwater to do this, as I was down there anyway. - Cheap (thomann!) harley-benton acoustic. Can't remember the model number, but it's the cheapest 4 they do with a sitka spruce top. This has been marvelous for having handy around the house. - Euphonic Audio iAmp 300 + 2 cabs (CxL 110). Unbelievable amp. Very transparent, loud enough to hurt, handles a 5-string and very compact. I'm currently thinking of buying a 5-string fretless. Budget 250-500 unfortunately - marriage & 2 kids limits the GAS fund. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Cheers, and thanks to the moderators Phil Quote

Davetbass Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Hello from Edinburgh. We made Fife by rowing all the mad people over the Forth and letting them go!! Quote

Head unit is the iAmp 350 (sorry - got the number wrong!) warwickhunt Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Do we have any Scots that live on/near Orkney? They could do us a great favour outing all of these scam Gumtree/eBay sellers Just out of interest I wonder who are most Northerly/Southerly UK BCers are? May try that in Off Topic. ... and welcome Phil Quote
GreeneKing Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Welcome to BC from someone who lived and worked in Fife for a while. I actually have an Iceni Zoot Custom Chaser fretless 5 that I'd consider parting with if you were interested. It'd be the top of your price range tho and a bargain at that Peter Quote
