MoonBassAlpha
Sikamikanico by RHCP. Gotta love the punky half-time/full on thing! Not one of their best known offerings (B-side of Under the Bridge 12") but it is in Wayne's World briefly, so you will have heard a bit of it. Low End Bee
Have we had 'Generation X - Dancing With Myself' yet? Works very well with that.

Nah. Same goes for Alan Lancaster & a fair swedge of Roger Glover. The rest of the band can rock, but only we can make it roll. P.
Roger Glover mainly root notes? you're kidding right? velvetkevorkian
One I heard in the shop today- 'Aisha' by Death In Vegas (feat Iggy Pop)- there is one note that's not the root but it's pretty much just an articulation.

spinynorman
In American Idiot, I have an insane, irresistable urge to do a cheesey country & western style walk up to the D in the middle of the chorus. I can usually hold out till the guitar break, then I just have to let it go. Probably irritates our guitarist, but he never says. Actually more likely never notices. mep
The Ramones version of What A Wonderful World is a driving 8th note root bass line, best played with a pick. That was the last time I came across such a song, to play at least. It is an exercise in restraint and aiming to get all the notes played with a consistant feel.
