paulie Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 (edited) I am selling my Tacoma Thuderchief Bass. As most of you will know Tacoma has now gone out of business. Their Acoustic Bass guitars are generally regarded as the best available. The reason they were so popular is that they developed a special bracing system which amplified the volume of the acoustic sound significantly. This bass really is loud. These basses were hand made in the US before they shipped production to the far east before finally going out of business. The standard model was the CB 10 and these sell on ebay nowadays for about $1200-$1500 depending on condition. Mine is a rare upgraded model. Its the CB 28 C. It has a sunburst finish over flame maple. Ebony neck. Pearl inlays and Tort binding around the body. These originally retailed at twice the price of the standard models. Mine is further unique in that it was specially made for a well known US country musician called John Cowan. It has "ARTIST" stamped into the body on the inside to signify it as a one off. It also has special pearl inlays on the fretboard. My bass is in excellent condition. Not a scratch anywhere, just a small blemish in the laquer on the headstock. It comes with a deluxe Tacoma Hardcase and im looking at offers around £1300 for it Thanks Edited September 9, 2010 by paulie
paulie Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 This bass actually cost me a little less than I had first though (exchange rate was more favourable when I bought it in from US) Hence, price drop to £1300
paulie Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 This bass is still available, offers or trades welcomed
