throwoff
For sheer noiseporn try a EH Bass Blogger. I love mine to bits, it is probably the only 1 part of my entire set up I wouldn't change. Simple, pretty cheap and MAD sound!
bassix
Peavey does the job but its only let down is the weight. Even though the Hartke LH500 isnt lightweight, Id take that over a Peavey. It has had fantastic reviews.
I've heard this and I am considering already. I think its just a case of actually trying these things out and seeing what I like best. I may try and get rid of the Hartke 2500 I have currently, any ideas on a ballpark figure? thisnameistaken
I've heard good things about the Bass Terror, it certainly fits the size category I just wonder if it'd do the punk job well?
A guy in a local band uses one, it very much sounds the part with his picked Musicman SUB through it. Not cheap though.
waltsdog
It has been mentioned already a couple of times but either Sansamp pedal will do the exact sound you're after and you won't have to shell out for a whole new rig. If you really want a change the the GK 700rb might be worth putting on the list as well as the others that have been mentioned. buff
Why not buy my old peavey head for £70 and use a sansamp with it.
