Prosebass 70's style P bass

My first purchase from Bass Chat, and now for sale as its not being used.

Prosebass built this 70s style P bass in the style of Paul Simonon's white/maple/Dimarzio for Clarky at the end of 2008.

It sounds has a great P bass sound and the vintage Dimarzio pickups are loud!

It has a very chunky 50s style P neck, rather than the more slimline jazz necks that I prefer.

The body (alder I think) and neck are generic P-bass parts from China. The bridge is similar to a Gotoh and is a heavy-mass after-market piece. None of these are from 'name' suppliers (eg Allparts etc)

Before it reached me a F*nder decal had applied but not lacquered over, so could be easily removed.

I hope Clarky wont mind me quoting him "Its put together fabulously, with the neatest copper shielding in the control cavity I have ever seen. Plays really well".

It is in really good condition apart from two dings on the top of the body caused when I was checking speaker connections at the back of an amp. Currently strung with roundwounds of uncertain origin.

I prefer slimmer necks and a Yamaha BB614 I got in a trade has taken over as my back up bass.

Unfortunately I have no spare cases so this will have to be collection only from Gloucester. Taken

This is seriously good value for money. It may be made of 'no name' parts (bar the DiMarzio pickup) but they are all very good quality and assembled with skill by Paul Rose (and the copper shielding is indeed as neat as I have ever seen on a bass). I know there's a lot of white P-bass love on BC and I really recommend this bass (as long as you can cope with a chunky 50s style P bass). £180 is a steal
