And I'll bet that a reasonable amount of prospective Squier buyers will put in a search for Squire anyway.

edit : Why is it spelled wrong anyway? :)

Fender bought the V.C. Squier string company, which was named after its founder, Victor Carroll Squier. It's just the guy's surname.

Check out the thrilling history of Squier:

In his front room does he play ShowaddyWaddy on his Shadowsky. Or some Shadows?

God, i'm bored of myself this morning.

Of to play my Squire, or one of my Percussion basses.

Believe it or not, I've actually seen the name "Shadowsky" used before. It was on Talkbass, however, I think the person using it was simply take the piss.

The most common mistake is to spell it with an "i", Sadowski. Again, on Talkbass, it was explained that this would be the way Polish people would spell it, and so a lot of people just assumed it was spelt that way without checking the actual spelling.

The singer in my band genuinely called my Precision Bass a 'Percussion' for the first year i was in a band with him.

"Use the Percussion on this track, it's got a fuller sound..."

I just left him to it. His face was a bit red when i corrected him.
A reasonable point, but in fairness at least there is a well-known word in English that is spelled "Squire".

I haven't often come across "Shadowsky". :)
Well, there's Shadow, and there's Sky...

A perfect bass for anyone considering doing a medley of Apache and Toccata.
