parker_muse Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Hey guys, I love the tones i get out of my stingray copy and i also love how it plays. However, it can be a bit noisy, even at low volumes. What can i do to rectify it? Upgrade the preamp and shielding? Tom Quote
parker_muse Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 Just a general background hum, marginally more when you crank the EQ. Quote
Ou7shined Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Shielding may help but it should be a humbucker in there which shouldn't give you any problems (especially at low volume) so I'm guessing it might be a fault with the pre. Do you get the hum everywhere (home, rehearsals, gigs etc) ? Quote
parker_muse Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 It's fine when it's quiet at home but when i'm rehearsing and live i get it. Quote

May just be a fault in the mains electrics in a particular location Quote
parker_muse Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 I've been playing around with it for the last half an hour or so and i think it is infact the lack of headroom when i crank my Superfly distorting it and giving it a bit of hum. Quote
