dincz
the 'Effects Loop' pre- and post-EQ jack sockets on the back have 'break jack' contacts in the signal path, and both seemed very scratchy (the 'pre-' one very much so), so I cleaned them up with lube/contact cleaner.
This is (or at least was when I was repairing amps) a very common problem on pretty much any brand of gear, and seems to happen mostly on amps whose FX jacks are never used. A bit of corrosion at the contact point and the result is crackling and intermittent sound. A quick fix is often simply to push a jack plug in and out a few times - a better idea is to get in there and clean the contacts properly.
