jmstone
I'm looking to add a bit of grit and get a fuller sound. Has anyone done a comparison of the pedals offered by these two companies? I would be very interested if someone could tell me the likely difference in sound and potential uses. Thx. Edit: To be more precise (the above was written from my mobile, and I can see it wasn't particularly clear), I am interested in: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DHA-VT1-DI-Bass-Driv...7#ht_2406wt_885 vs. http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/sansamp/bassdriverdi.html vs. http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/77373 James Edited September 13, 2010 by jmstone

Maybe you can help then seeing as everyone else is so quiet! I really like the look of your pedals, but I was wondering if they do the same kind of thing as the Sansamp offering - as I assume, or do they have different purposes? I'm a bit lost with all the cab emulation etc. and whether pedals should be placed in front of the amp or in FX loop. How would you say your pedals compare to the others in terms of sound? TomTFS
I'm also interested in anyone's knowledge on this as I'm in pretty much the same situation.
algmusic
Not to make this decision harder, but the MXR bass DI is a contender.. In my opinion, I'd try the VT1 as it's using an actual valve and after using an amp with a valve preamp (terror bass). I love it. That said, if I'm still take my sansamp if I'm using hired gear/borrowed gear.. that said, my terror bass is now pretty small
victor5string
i use the DHA VT2 Twin EQ Bass and have to say i like the tone alot more then the sansamp,to me the sansamp is just giving you that slight scooped Ampeg tone the DHA lets the tone of your bass pass through to the amp but gives it a nice bite or full on drive. with the DHA you also get alot more control over the valve saturation and the tone controls i find are much more responsive. DHA everytime over sansamp, also check out owen electronics some very similar stuff on there to.
