davideleira Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 (edited) Hi. What tipe of pickguards can be used to a Squier P-bass? Some people say that Fender USA or Mex or Precision Bass Pickguards don't are for Squier, only doing changes on the pickguard, and I don't want to make any changes. I want a pickguard Black Pearloid, and I see this in ebay: http://cgi.ebay.de/BLACK-PEARLOID-P-BASS-P...=item4cf04b842f and http://cgi.ebay.de/Fender-USA-MEX-PRECISIO...=item4cf1850917 Anyone knows something about this? Regards. Edited September 13, 2010 by davideleira Quote
Toddy54 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I fitted a Fender scratchplate to my son's Squire P bass, and on his all but 2 holes lined up ( holes not seen with the scratchplate on ), had to drill 2 holes as they were about one eighth of an inch out. Also I had to file a little off the pup hole to make it fit. Quote
warwickhunt Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Are you talking the new Squier CV or a JV, SQ, Chinese, Jap? It does make a difference. It'd be just as easy to get The Bass Doc to make you a one from scratch (no pun intended) and you'd be sure of the holes lining up, he uses only the best ply and they are spot on for quality and fit.
