Try looking up SWR reviews on Harmony Central, in their legacy reviews section. Certainly seems a good buy at the starting price. Good luck, Karl. warwickhunt
I had an SWR 220 yonks ago (oddly though I don't remember the piping/lettering being that greeny/blue) and they are a decent amp, as is the cab. The BBE preamp was another of my passed bits of kit and other than being a tad noisy (not that you'd notice in a gig situation) at 'some' settings, that is a very under-rated bit of kit as well; the sonic maximiser circuit can do wonders for some set-ups. nugget
I use the same 220 studio amp and it's 100% stunning!! I've tried many other amps from Genz Benz to vintage all valve ampeg and these SWRs are sooo good. VERY sensative to semi-parametric eq settings. Did have a triad cab as well, quite big and heavy but would be a perfect match to the 220 I play in a pretty loud 5 piece rock covers band and 220watts is plenty loud enough (master volume about half way) I would certainly recomend it. Gwilym
i've had my eye on that - the SWR rig I never bought - I went for the Basic 350 (more power) and the Bigfoot 2x12" cab (lighter). I'm sure this sounds great though
