What do you think of the elf?  I'm considering a nice little compact rig and am considering an Elf - @Doodmade it sound great on his video review.

I think it's great. Through my 4 ohm/103dB  GR Bass cab, it's very loud, plenty loud enough to gig with. Obviously not as beefy with the wee cab, and if you turn it up a compressor comes in rather than overdrive so not at all like my Orange Terror sound wise but the MojoMojo can correct that.

Thank you ❤️! I’ve actually been thinking about getting one myself for house rehearsal sessions!

I took the new stack:-) over my brother's today. Noodling away while he played with the controls on the elf. Sounds HUGE when you really crank up the bass . In the last few degrees the gain control suddenly bring in some nice dirt as well as enough clank to make you think you have brand new strings on. This is vintage '62 jazz PUPs so might be more controllable with a hotter bass.

Should be loud enough for rehearsal, gigs with a PA and a not-too-loud drummer.

We did find the PJB C2 did break up a bit on the low G when you use loads of bass boost, but backing off a bit sorted it.

I suspect the cab is tuned with a small peak at low G to max the response for the low E.

I've been umming and ahing about getting a new amp/cab but I plugged in my recently acquired Sansamp into this today and it sounded bloody marvellous.

Cool, I didn't know they made a passive one!

They are not currently in production and I don't think they made many. Mine is a pre-production model without a serial number, bought from a bass chat member.

.....15 years later, I have a Kramer, (thank you Josh), and a QSC PLX 3021, with cabs but no front end.

This rig can actually do anything I need it to do . I was thinking of selling the amp but played it a few times lately at rehearsals and realised it sounds perfect.

I've had the amp (bought on here) and cabs from new since they were launched about a year or so ago. The bass is a new addition purchased on here from Joe. So glad I decided to as it sounds wonderful. "Everything from Marcus to Jaco" in his own words. The John East pre took some getting used to but a month on feels more natural. I usually set and forget all my other basses.

I normally play 5 string high c on all my instruments but wanted a more standard low b setup as after many years of not being in a band forming one again with a few friends. Looking forward to gigging after what seems like a lifetime (technically having 3 young kids lifetimes...)

It looks as good as it sounds...or sounds as good as it looks.

The mild OCD in me is wanting to only buy seafoam/surf green basses and pedals from now on...

How much for the Sheehan man? Hook a brother up for one hit of seafoam.

I love these basses. They suggest a style I don't play in although I'm sure they're very versatile really.

Billy was actually the original reaoen before Gary Willis I started playing with 3 fingers.

Not sure what they go for these days. Very versatile basses and I’ve seen some covert them to 5 string due to the 45mm nut. I got that image from Reverb so, will check prices as I’m now curious. Lol 😂 I changed to three fingers for that reason too.
