New Berg HT115 in the house :)

Strickly speaking this is Plux's rig (my eldest). But he never gets around to posting (far too busy playing) so I thought I'd share.

Got the HT115 of Birdy, and here is the full stack including the HT210, sounds fantastic!
Thats neat that the cabs match in terms of look and size!! I can imagine how good it sounds!

Haha, I just can't wait to get it home now, it's like the clock is going backwards today.

I just got home from work, had a play with it for 15 mins. I think I have achieved perfection.

I had it Bi-amped lows into the 15" and full range into the 4 X 10" ( I should have put the 15" underneath but I was on y own and couldn't be arsed to lift it).

It is SO clean and so punchy, can't see me needing another amp for a long while.

Here's another crappy phone pic, it's not racked yet but will be on the weekend.

Be interested to see what you think about the differnce it makes being bi amplified and un-biamplified if you get the chance to fiddle!

I put a jack cable from by-amp out 2 to Power amp a in, switch Bi-amp mode to full range and put it in stereo mode.

Put the a output into the 4x10 and the b output into the 1x15 that's if I remember correctly, I'll check it tomorrow to make sure.
In basic term I have 2 power amps in my amp and it is set so I get full range going through the 4 X 10 and only low range going through the 1 X 15.

I'm sure someone can explain it better than me though.
So it's basically a crossover then?
Sick rig man, i'm jealous! My head isn't even working at the moment!

I have to ask, how does that head sound? Any good for metal? (i'm talking HEAVY metal here), thinking of an upgrade from my ashdown electric blue head

Very very very clean

Very loud

Quite bright - EQ takes some getting used to, very very musical and powerful as a basic tone shaping control

Its not noise free by any means (audible hiss, but nothing to worry you in a gig situation)

At the price paid it was amazing bang for the buck, the price has risen very sharply unfortunately....

hmm, can you dial in some nice tubey growly overdrive?
And it looks like i may be looking for an ashdown ABM if they're that expensive then

Erm I don't know.

I think the difference is a crossover is one signal being split where as this is 2 separate amps but I could be talking bollocks, all I know is it sounds awesome and weighs a ton.

No, its not a preamp designed to overdrive, there is one vol control, no gain control. Its a design employed by both Alembic and Fender in the past (for huge amounts of money). It doesnt overdrive with the tube it has. Changing the tube may well induce some overdrive at spleen shredding volumes, but I havent tried and dont know that for sure.....

Hmm, with a crossover you do have to run two amps, depending on how you set it up. Cool idea though
