TheRockinRoadie
Not disputing what you say, but what do you mean by "didn't care at all"? I've never had anything but fantastic service from Marshall; & their tech dept were massively helpful; even to the point of once arranging a courier for me, to pick up a 70's tranny head to go back for a service. One thing I was told by them is that Marshall dealers are only authorised to sell Marshall, only their MK factory if authorised to fix them, not something that many dealerships broadcast too widely.
Firstly, I will say that I have used Marshall products for a while, and I think they produce some fantastic amps. They are renown for their customer service - which is why I was so supprised! I know that dealer's arent allowed to repair marshalls, and they arranged to pick up my cabinet from the dealer to have it's board replaced. I spoke to marshall and explained that they had cost me a fortune in petrol backwards and forwards, the amp was a christmas present, and that I couldn't gig because they kept sending me faulty products, but all they said was we will make the cabinet a priority. I was hoping they would compensate me in some way - bearing in mind I paid for 3 faulty products, it would have been nice to have recieved discount from them... I felt really let down - One dodgy amp I can understand, but 3 and a cabinet?
Sharkfinger
And my grown up version :-)
Glad you like the power amp. Guess you're using the TC purely as a preamp? What is the impedance of those cabs? 4 Ohm each is ideal for that amp, as it goes down to 2Ohm per channel. markstuk
Yup the RH450 is purely being used as a preamp... The EBS's are 4 ohms each so it's delivering about 700W RMS per cab . Sadly the PLX does not bridge into 2 ohms :-) Also works well using my Sansamp as a preamp... Cheers Mark
Glad you like the power amp. Guess you're using the TC purely as a preamp? A couple of years ago I was invited down to MK after having a "difference of opinion" with them. I was told very early on in the visit that Marshall give nothing away; all of their named stars "Slash, Lemmy et al" pay for their gear full whack, which shocked me tbh. Though Jim Marshall gave me a signed over auto-biog as a "thank you".
johnbassdoherty
Here is a couple of pics of my rig, with my 2 Dingwall Basses a Combustion and an Afterburner 11, I even included the mandatory bassist stare, but behind that hard faced middle aged man I really am enjoying myself. Sharkfinger
AFAIK, no one's built an amp that can go down to 1 ohm per channel Just wanted to make sure you knew about the parallel mono mode..... Was running the lower powered version of that power amp until recently
Yup the RH450 is purely being used as a preamp... kurcatovium
I just switched from huge tube amp with even bigger 1x15" and later 2x12" cab and here's my current setup. I like it a lot! Head is well known TC RH450, but the cab is a little special one. It's 1x12" loaded with Eminence Kappalite, made by local builder and it's totally awesome. Due to very thin ply it weighs only 11kgs, but is sturdy/bulletproof construction, because there is very clever system of supports and reinforcements inside. I had it compared with Mesa Boogie 1x12" side by side and it is not worse... Edited May 10, 2011 by kurcatovium

kurcatovium
Well, this particular one costed me 8000 CZK (that's about 280 pounds). It's "simple" design without horn or tweeter, which suits me better... He offered me good choice of configurations (including classical 4x10" or 2x12" and also some weird stuff like 3x8"). I know he has one "spare" 1x12" cab good to go, if anyone is interested. It's even smaller (and cheaper) than this one (same dimensions of face, but a bit less in depth) and weight is only 9kg. That one is loaded with B&C speaker. If there's anyone who wants contact, then drop me a PM. Edited May 10, 2011 by kurcatovium

wombatboter
Recently changed to this stack...two Bergantino's AE2X12 (which I bought from Bass Direct, Mark is great to deal with) and an Epifani UL902 which delivers twice 900 W into 4ohms.. Very loud but still a very portable stack. A very warm mellow sound but still with plenty of definition and punch.. I thought 10" inch speakers missed a bit of warmth in the end so this is just ideal for me.

LiamPodmore
This is the rig i used in my Year 11 Leaver Assembly this afternoon Squier Jazz Deluxe V - Warwick ProFet 5.1 - Old Peavey 1x12 PA Cab. Covered the cab cause it looked tatty and the flag looks more menacing. Liam
DangerDan
This is my practice rig: Bc Rich Beast, SWR-SM900, NOT my Ashdown 4x10. have never found a hard case for a Beast bass, so iv only played it on stage twice, unlike my Tanglewood (!) which is battered after serving me well through so many sessions of abuse on stage (because of which, it is not eligible for the porn section). The SWR OBVIOUSLY goes everywhere with me. (sorry the pic is on its side, il work out these darned technologies one day...)
