Interesting, I'd never heard of Krampera. What would you compare it to?
Can't really compare it to anything before, for me it's like Aguilar/Eden/TC/Hartke.. but.. better with more clarity and dynamic range.

Plus it's loud! Any of you at the LBS probably heard a similar rig cranked.. 1/4-1/2 by Mr. Clutterbuck (think it was him?)

This is the best pic i could find of my rig...

Fender Precision> Fender Tuner> Russian Big Muff> Behringer EQ> Boss SYB-5> Boss LMB-3> Orange Bass Terror > Ashdown ABM810.

LOUD.

The ABM is ancient... thinking about going for an SVT pretty soon, they seem to work better with the Orange. Considering trading the Precision too.

That PF500 looks so much better here than in the stock photos!

Would you say the BF Compact sounds similar to the 610HLF then?

You're the T.Alan bass player! Sweet! Saw you with Fishtank in Gillingham the other week. Yes, it IS loud, my head is still ringing from your rig!

Great gig all round.

Are you the only person in the UK to have a Kampera rig? I can't imagine any have sold at the rrp.
I've no idea what the RRP is, but some of the things they mention on their site have me concerned -- some really basic misunderstandings that make me thing they don't know what they're doing. :)

George is probably the best amp builder in the world, so I can assure you the unit knows exactly what it's doing. :)

Don't think I'm the only owner in the UK, certainly not in Europe as loads of people wanted to order right there and then at Frankfurt.

If Krampera are going to make claims of loudspeakers with no inductance, and then go on to claim that they solve a problem they didn't cause in the first place -- then I'm going to call b*llocks. :)

Where does it say that? All I can see is stuff like; 'but replaces the 12” driver with a very high quality low inductance lightweight 15” speaker that delivers improved bass frequency response and adds real weight and improved definition.'

"Transcoil offers increased efficiency for greater clarity and output, high dynamics and a faster attack presenting the optimum load to any amplifier by virtue of its zero inductance."

"The end result is a 12” speaker that responds much faster than virtually any other 10” speaker on the market and provides a very clear sound on stage, without the “boominess” associated with many other systems."

I'm not doubting you when you say it sounds good, for that price it had better -- it's just a shame they've dropped to marketing tactics normally reserved for the hi-fi industry.

I could make other comments as well but I don't want to just sit here and be totally negative -- certain aspects do seem well designed, it's refreshing to see a 15" in a nice big proper box instead of crammed into the tiniest box allowable, and I do love anything with multi-coloured lights on it! Also a fan of the 'low height, rack width' design of the head, instead of the more common 'narrow-but-taller/deeper' design -- I think this looks better. 9V power and effects loop on the footswitch are nice too, it's good to see I'm not the only one with such ideas. :)

I haven't read the whole press pack, suppose I should've done haha. :)

It's got cool unique features, the power on the pedal bit is handy as I'm now eating through batteries like there's no tomorrow.

I'm taking it to the Surrey bass bash, so if you're coming, come give it a once over! :)

Possibly not - but wanting to order and actually ordering are two different things. I've done these tradeshows. I know the reality.

Well they're stocked across Europe and although I'm not told figures, they are shifting.

It's in Mesa, SWR and MB territory too, and (considering the amp) not overpriced. Try one, you'll be surprised. :)

Well I used the new rig properly loud last night at a practice and I was completely blown away by how amazing it sounded. Everything was a lot clearer and less wooly- and my bass was distinct the entire way through rehearsal. It was definitely as loud as the 6x10 which is awesome.

Funny thing is I THOUGHT it was loud, then realised I had the -15db pad switch in. When I pressed it and played a massive chord it nearly caused the building to collapse.

That was on about half volume...with 300 of the 500 watts going through the cab :) I expect it would reverse the rotation of the earth or something if I hooked up a Midget as well!
