tom1946
Hi all, I have a MIJ 50s reissue in Butterscotch blonde/Yellow which is see through and has a fantastic grain. Maple neck, single pickup with a black pickguard. This is coming up as a 1994/5 model on the dater site, it is in absolutely mint condition with no wear, marks or any damage at all, just a deep gloss finish. The original owner died having not really used it. The second owner has left it in its case for the last 10 years. I can't get away with the neck so I'm selling it. Could anyone advise a price to advertise it for please? Sorry the model is a 51 reissue Thanks very much. Delberthot
a fantastic bass but one that's not for everyone. Prices are a bit wild at the minute, if you do a search on Ebay for Fender basses in Japan available to the UK, they're coming in at around £800 new whereas a year ago they would've been around £500 or less. Second hand they go between £350-500 roughly. Yours has a case, is in great condition and is an older model so I would be putting it up for £500 at least to begin with. I've had 2 and they are brilliant basses but I couldn't live with the lack of body contour Edited September 15, 2010 by Delberthot
Lozz196
I recently sold one on here, for £395, all standard, no mods, and no case. Did an internet search prior to this, and they were anything between £500 - £750, tho nowhere actually had them in stock. I believe they are being discontinued, and the fact that no retailers have any kindof suports that. I had quite a bit of interest, about 3 serious enquiries, within a week, so they are popular. Get some good photos done, and lift the specs from Fenders website, and you should be ok starting off at £500 as you have the case as well. Ou7shined
I traded mine earlier this year with a value of £450 so concur with the above evaluations. ... although mine had an odd serial and came direct from Japan so was presumed to be a non-export model and may have achieved more if I'd asked for it. spinynorman
I think you'd get more for it on Ebay, provided you're ok shipping abroad. People are being very cautious here, understandably, whereas the Australians have a currency advantage ... a £500 bass on UK ebay 2 years ago would have been about 1165 Aus$, now it would be 850.
