1997 Ken Smith BSR5-J

£1400

Only pic I have at the moment:

Can be tried and tested in West London not to far from Barons Court on the District Line, and 10 minutes walk from the Olympia exhibition centre.

thanks chaps! :)
Indeed it is, my first "high-end" bass. I will be sad to see it go - superb sound, and low action, maybe the most playable bass I've owned. I've just become more accustomed to the wider 19mm string spacing, rather than the 18mm on this.
Out of all the BSR5-J models I've seen for sale (4 or 5 others) over the last 5 years since I got this, this is by far the nicest looking. Some amazing grain patterns, but still very under-stated.

Maple body and (bolt-on) neck, morado finger board (I think), Smith BMT preamp, Smith humbucking J pickups. Controls are Volume (pull/passive), Pan, Bass, Mid, Treble. 34" scale. 24 frets. Weight, I can't say, but would guess around 9lbs.

Comes with the original Smith hard-shell case with case candy (Smith wax, Smith leather strap).

If there's anything else anyone needs to know, then don't hesitate to ask here, or via PM.

cheers
Gwilym

just found some youtube clip of a dude playing BSR5J - I guess it's representitve of my bass. It sounds to me like the EQ is quite flat on there, or that it's in passive mode.

Fancy trading it for a five string hand-made Bacchus super jazz (19mm spacing too!)

In perfect nick.

Hi Damo,
Sorry, not looking for any trades, as I need the funds towards something very specific.

I don't know for sure, and unfortunately I can't weigh it at the moment (because its 200 miles away), but I'd guess at around the 9lb mark.

pre xmas bump - looking to fund something so near offers considered.

Local pickup preferred (London), or if anyone is interested in this and are in North/South Wales, collection would also be possible from the Llanelli area down south or Menai Bridge/Bangor in the north. But I'm only hauling it around over the holidays for a confirmed sale, and I'll want a deposit to deter any tyre-kicking ;0)

Is your bass still up for sale?

Hi Boogiedee, it is kind of on hold, but there is also a second person in line too. If a sale falls through I'll post here and pm you.
Thanks!

It looks like various deals are potentially not going to happen, so here are lots more pictures of the KS...
