KevinJazzBass
Hi guys, a mate of mine brought round his camera the other day so I got him to take some snaps of my two basses. I have a 1983 JV Jazz in Olympic White. I bought this bass a few months ago and it really is the best bass I've played. It has a nice slim jazz neck and an awesome tone. It also quite light for a jazz. The bass is strung with heavy Labella flat wounds, the ones that Jamerson used to use. They sound fantastic for Reggae, Soul, Blues and Jazz The second is a Fender US 62 reissue body in Sunburst with a US standard Jazz bass neck with maple fretboard. The neck is from a US jazz I bought new in 2006 feels really nice. The body is from a 62 Reissue Precision bass I bought on here last year. The body is lightweight, sounds fantastic and is one of the best looking sunburst's I've seen. I didn't get a lot with the wider Precision neck and also the neck had truss rod issues. So I decided to try a neck I really liked and am super happy with the results. This bass is strung with Fender Roundwounds and has a great aggressive tone ala Bruce Foxton/Paul Siminon Hope you enjoy them. Stingray5
Oo, a nice pair indeed, sir! I'd normally ask which one you'd choose as your desert-island-bass, but from your post I can tell how much you love both of them, so maybe I shouldn't ask... Then again, maybe I will! So - which one would you choose as your desert-island-bass?

lee650
Love the white JV, it reminds me of what mine used to look like before i messed about with it i went through a phase of trying to "improve it" many years ago, and i very foolishly got rid of the original bridge and pickups ( still got the tuners though) when i got mine(about 1993) some prawn sanded off the original squire logo and put a crap fender sticker on, i had to have the headstock refinishedand had a 60,s style fender logo put on as i couldnt get a squire one at the time, I am considering taking out the preamp and maybe putting back the original bridge (i do like the badass though) yours looks i much better nick than mine as well, mines got a bit of mojo from 16 years of constant gigging all over the world love it mate if you ever move it on give me a shout - all the best - lee http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1530...p;id=1042572374 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1087...p;id=1042572374 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5944...p;id=1042572374
